Dale E. Davis, loved music

April 29, 2024

Dale E. Davis, 67, of Milton, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home.

Dale was born Sept. 21, 1956, in Wilmington, to the late James F. and G. Margaret (Rose) Davis. His parents later moved to Christiana, where Dale spent his formative years and graduated from Christiana High School Class of 1974.  Dale had a lifelong love of music. He was an avid supporter of live music and attended many concerts throughout his life.

Dale began his career in the recorded music business in 1979 with Warner, Elektra, and Atlantic Corporation starting in their distribution warehouse in Mt. Laurel, N.J. Dale’s passion for music fueled his career. Later, he held various positions in the sales and marketing department within WEA Corporation and culminating in being named Mid-Atlantic regional marketing manager for Warner Brothers Records. He retired from the recorded music industry in 2011, and then he returned to his native Delaware, settling in Milton in 2014. Dale continued to remain active in the music business community in an unofficial capacity, staying in touch with current trends and the latest music.

Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Rosemarie L. Morace-Davis; sisters-in-law, Patrice Morace and Adelaide Emery; cherished friends, Marc and Cheryl Fruchtman; his adored cat, Penelope; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues, who all held a special place in his heart.

His warm presence and energy will be profoundly missed by all who know him. Dale’s legacy will carry on through the melodies that defined his spirited existence.

In keeping with his passion for music, a visitation set to the soundtrack of his life will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 416 Federal St., Milton, with a Celebration of Life ceremony beginning at 1 p.m.  As a special tribute, honor Dale’s love of music by wearing your favorite band’s T-shirt.
