Millsboro bypass begins to take shape

Work on the North Millsboro Bypass to connect Route 113 to Route 24 is taking shape, as the construction of new bridges moves farther across Millsboro Pond.
The new alignment will start at Route 24 west of Mountaire Farms and extend westward, bridging over Gravel Hill Road, shown running left to right, Millsboro Pond, the Norfolk Southern Railroad and Fox Run Road. It will connect to Route 113 north of Millsboro. The project also includes a grade-separated interchange at the intersection of Route 113 and Route 20.
The goal is to improve safety and reduce congestion through downtown Millsboro.
Looking west, the Millsboro bypass will connect to Route 113 north of Millsboro.
Gravel Hill Road runs along Millsboro Pond as the bridge for the Millsboro bypass is under construction just north of the town.
On the eastern end, the Millsboro bypass will connect to Route 24 near the Mountaire Farms chicken plant.
