Cape Community Fund shares music, helps neighbors

April 27, 2024

The Cape Community Fund held a fundraiser at the Irish Eyes in Lewes April 21. The fund, a local charity formed by Lewes High School Class of 1969, is dedicated to the concept of neighbors helping neighbors.

Attendees to the event were treated to an afternoon of great music, a food buffet and a cash bar. Entertainment was provided by the 33 1/3 band, The Funsters, Sticky Situations and Electric Smoke.

The event raised more than $11,000.

“The fundraiser was a big success,” said Cape Community Fund board member Butch Archer. “Every year, the community comes out to support us and our efforts, and we greatly appreciate it. Local businesses and artisans support us with their donations, and for that we are grateful. And the musicians, does the music get any better? And we'd like to thank Irish Eyes for their unfailing support over the past 10 years. Because of all these efforts, we are able to assist those in the Cape Region with catastrophic events in their lives.”
