Lewes homes targeted in burglaries

April 27, 2024

Delaware State Police say thieves recently targeted two Lewes homes; they are warning people to secure cash and jewelry.

Police said burglars went to homes in Compass Point and Kindleton, and also Kings Crossing in Lincoln during the daytime hours of April 22-23. Police said the suspects were wearing construction vests, gloves, baseball hats, sweatshirts and surgical masks and appear to be targeting local nail salon owners. Some of them forced their way into the homes. The suspects may be operating a dark-colored SUV, police said.

Police say residents should lock their doors, and secure large amounts of cash and jewelry through secure locations such as banks or safety deposit boxes. Report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Property Crimes Unit asks anyone with information to contact Det. K. Perry at 302-752-3800. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
