Schell Brothers to cut ribbon on Georgetown library project May 13

May 9, 2024

Schell Brothers announced a renovation project completed at the Georgetown Public Library, led entirely by its female employees and female trade partners. The project has revitalized the library's space, creating a dynamic new area specifically designed for teenagers.

The initiative underscores Schell Brothers' commitment to fostering diversity and empowering women in traditionally male-dominated industries. From start to finish, the project was spearheaded by a talented team of women within the company, showcasing their expertise in construction, design and project management.

The newly renovated teen space boasts a modern and inviting atmosphere featuring a lounge area, gaming zone and dedicated study section. Throughout April, the team worked to create the space from scratch, handling everything from building walls to installing electrical systems and drywall. The result is a vibrant and functional environment tailored to young library patrons' needs and interests.

"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with our female colleagues and trade partners on this exciting project," said Alyssa Titus, marketing director at Schell Brothers. "The renovation of the teen space at Georgetown Library not only showcases the talents of women in construction but also reflects our commitment to giving back to the community."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, May 13, at 123 West Pine St., Georgetown.
