Sussex Realtors donate $1,000 to Redemption City
The Sussex County Association of Realtors announced Renee Parker as the recipient of the 2024 Good Neighbor Award.
The accolade recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving their communities through philanthropic endeavors and volunteerism. The association donates $1,000 to the charity of choice for each year’s Good Neighbor Award winner. Parker has been instrumental in providing support for Redemption City, a Seaford-based nonprofit organization that seeks to help homeless individuals in Sussex County find shelter and provide them with comprehensive and holistic care. Parker's commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others exemplifies the core values of the real estate profession.
Nikki Gonzalez, founder and executive director of Redemption City, commends Parker for her unwavering dedication to its mission. "Renee Parker's tireless efforts in fundraising and community outreach have been instrumental in the success of Redemption City," said Gonzalez. Parker's involvement with Redemption City stems from her desire to continue assisting individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges. Prior to her career in real estate, Parker worked in the criminal justice system as a psycho-forensic evaluator, where she witnessed firsthand the importance of providing support and resources to vulnerable populations.
"I am honored to receive the Good Neighbor Award from the Sussex County Association of Realtors," said Parker. "My commitment to serving others has always been a driving force in my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those in need."
Parker has organized successful fundraising events for Redemption City, including an annual golf tournament and the Ugly Sweater 5K. These events have not only raised vital funds for the organization, but also fostered a sense of community among participants.
