Summer League Week Seven and Championship Night

Summer League Week 7

Elementary Division-

In the one semi-final match the #1 seed, Guards, defeated the Waves by a score of 11-0 to move into the championship games. Goals were scored by Emerson Allen, Finley Allen, Vivian Bolden, Brielle DiStefano and Ellis Hay.

In the second semi-final match on Monday, July 17, the Tides defeated the Dunes on a sudden victory goal by Harlow Draper.

In the Championship game on Wednesday, July 19, the Guards got three first half goals from Vivian Bolden and Brielle DiStefano (2), to earn the gold medal over the Tides. Jada Ricketts has an outstanding night in the goal cage for her Tides team

Senior Division-

On Monday, July 17, the Corals earned a 4-1 win over the Seahawks. Avery Congleton opened the scoring for the Corals at 3:57 in the first quarter but Alexa Wilkins scored at 2:04 to even the match. Julie Strohman got the first of her three goals at :05 in the opening quarter to earn the win for the Corals.

In the second game of the evening, the Bengals eadged past the Artics on a late goal by Emma Westbrook. Brynn Bowen had given the Bengals the early lead with her 1st quarter goal at 4:05. Layla Conn scored late in the 2ndquarter to even the match for the Artics.

In the final game of the evening, The Pumas got a 1st quarter goal by Brynn Evick to edge past the Baffins.

 

In the concluding round of the regular season on Wednesday, July 19, the Pumas and the Artics played to a 1-1 result. Brynn Evick scored late in the opening quarter for the Pumas before Olivia Hershelman tied the game with her goal at :59 of the 4th quarter.

The second game of the night ended in a 1-1 result between the Bengals and the Corals. Avery Congleton put the Corals into the lead with  her goal at 2:01 of the 3rd quarter before Brynn Bowen scored at 4:15 of the 4th to tie the game.

In the third game of the night, Aubrie Myers and Riley Klopp got the goals to defeat the Seahawks. Myers scored at 5:40 in the 2nd quarter for the game winner, while Klopp got the insurance goal at 8:54 in the 4th quarter.

 

In the championship game between the Pumas and the Bengals, Brynn Evick scored off a long pass from Hailey Moore at 1:54 of the 1st quarter to give the Pumas the first half lead. Emma Westbrook scored at 1:13 in the 3rdquarter to even the match.

The game was decided by the shoot-out tie breaker. The Pumas had the first attempt and Maci Long was successful. After a miss by Mattie Kreig, Lacy Bayley scored to put the Pumas up by 2 goals. Harper Serman scored to pull the Bengals to within a goal. After Brynn Evick was unsuccessful, Elise Westbrook scored to even the shootout at two goals apiece. Hailey Moore scored for the Pumas but Brynn Bowen countered for the Bengals to keep the shootout even. Abby Kane missed the final attempt for the Pumas and Emma Westbrook got the game winning goal for the Bengals.

 

Summer league is now concluded. Registration is open for the fall training and team practices which start in September.
