Teresa Rodriguez wins MDDC logo contest

Cape Gazette graphic artist Teresa Rodriguez received notification recently that she is the winner of Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association’s 100th Anniversary logo contest. Rodriguez’s entry was judged the best of more than 60 entries from graphic artists throughout the region.

The winning logo will be featured in all upcoming 100th anniversary promotions, leading up to the celebration of the press association’s century of service, which takes place in 2008.

In addition to the prestige of the award, Rodriguez’s achievement also came with a cash award and a new iPod from Apple. She has been a graphic artist for the Cape Gazette’s production department for several years. “We were pleasantly surprised and honored to hear of Teresa’s achievement,” said Cape Gazette Publisher Dennis Forney. “She is part of a fine graphic artists team dedicated to providing excellent services for our advertising and editorial departments.”

Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association, founded in 1908, is the combination of three separate press associations. It provides training and advertising services, as well as contest and award programs, for hundreds of newspapers throughout the region.
