Broadwalk on the Boardwalk to support cancer research May 10

May 6, 2025

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition announced the return of its Broadwalk on the Boardwalk, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the walk stepping off at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10, from CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave. in Rehoboth Beach.
All are welcome to join in raising awareness, celebrating strength and walking toward a future without breast cancer.

This free event is a heartfelt community fundraiser created by Kathy Wiz in honor of her sister’s courageous battle with breast cancer.

Broadwalk on the Boardwalk is more than just a walk; it’s a powerful tribute to those lost to cancer and a celebration of survivors. Community members, families and friends are invited to gather, walk and show their support wearing pink.

Connie Holdridge, DBCC director of survivorship and education, said, “The Broadwalk on the Boardwalk is the most emotionally intense event we attend. Each year, when we are at the end of the walk on the beach, the supporters line up in the shape of a heart. The survivors and thrivers are invited into the heart by the number of years they have survived so far. It brings tears to my eyes every time.”

The morning kicks off with a festive pre-walk celebration in the CAMP Rehoboth courtyard, featuring uplifting music by DJ Sharon, a 50/50 raffle, face painting for all ages and pink boas available for a donation.

At 10 a.m., participants will walk together along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and finish with a symbolic heart formation on the beach, a beautiful moment of unity, remembrance and hope.

Event registration is free and now open at give.debreastcancer.org/ge/broadwalk2025.
