CIB director to address LWVSC Nov. 7

Chris Bason, executive director for the Center for the Inland Bays, will speak at the membership meeting of the League of Women Voters of Sussex County, to be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Fish On, 17300 N Village Main Blvd., Lewes. Dinner is optional and will precede the presentation, which will begin at 7 p.m. Bason will talk about the importance of waterway buffers and how the league's Natural Resources Team can actively participate in these issues.

The Center for the Inland Bays is a private nonprofit organization created in 1994 to promote the wise use and enhancement of the Inland Bays watershed. From New Castle, Bason is a graduate of the University of Delaware and East Carolina University where he earned his master's degree in biology. Bason has worked to study and protect wetlands and estuaries for 19 years, primarily in Delaware. He has worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Nature Conservancy, and has been employed by the Center for the Inland Bays since 2004.
