Delaware PTA awards scholarships to two Delaware high school graduates
Delaware PTA announced the 2016 recipients of the Delaware PTA Betty Lewis and Debbie King scholarships. Each year Delaware PTA offers scholarships to graduating Delaware high school students planning to enter an education or early childhood education postsecondary program. The scholarships are open to any graduating student who is a member of their local PTA/PTSA or is Delaware VIP. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic achievement.
Alexis Gooch, 2016 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Delaware PTA Betty Lewis Scholarship Fund. She will be attending Eastern University in the fall where she will continue to play field hockey and pursue a dual certification in elementary education and special education. Abigail Bilbrough, 2016 graduate of Smyrna High School, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Delaware PTA Debbie King Scholarship Fund. She will be attending Wilmington University in the fall with a dual major in early childhood education and special education.
The Delaware Congress of Parents and Teachers, also known as the Delaware State PTA, is a registered nonprofit organization made up of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of Delaware’s children.
