Giant Food and Toys for Tots team up for children this holiday season

Giant Food of Landover, Md., announced Dec. 8 that Giant and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation will work together to support children in need this holiday season. Giant will host Toys for Tots collection bins in all 173 neighborhood stores in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. In addition, Giant presented Toys for Tots with $50,000 to further its program. The partnership comes during Giant’s 75th anniversary year.

For 65 years, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has been helping our community, providing joy and a message of hope to less fortunate children,” said Anthony Hucker, president, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “We’re thrilled to support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and encourage our customers to donate new, unwrapped toys at their local Giant and bring holiday cheer to a child in need.”

Since 1947, Toys for Tots has been delivering hope and holiday cheer to less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy. What began as a gift of a rag doll has grown to provide toys and gifts to more than 7 million children.
