Lefty’s Alleys and Eats wins second in chart showdown
On Feb. 23, Lefty's Alley & Eats participated in "Chowdown for Charity" hosted by The Next Generation-Southern Delaware at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover. They joined other restaurants from Kent and Sussex counties, whose local chefs prepared gourmet signature dishes which were voted on by the attendees of the event.
Lefty's chef Tom Kramer made cheese-stuffed pappusas which won second place in the competition and featured chipotle chicken, vinegar slaw, and verde sauce.
Next Gen-South is an organization within the Delaware Community Foundation geared toward developing young philanthropic leaders in Delaware. They are currently focused on supporting mental health services for children from their annual "Chowdown for Charity" event.
"We were happy to participate in their worthy cause and were excited about our second place win among some excellent competition," said Jennifer Gooner, director of operations at Lefty's.
