The Lewes Fire Dept. Auxiliary presented $5,000 to the fire department. The donation will be put toward a Lucas Device. The Auxiliary hopes to raise the rest of the $15,000 price tag at their 4th annual Stop, Drop and Run 5k June 10. The Lewes Fire Department held its 22nd Annual Awards Banquet Jan. 13 at Nassau Valley Vineyards.
This event recognizes fire department members, auxiliary and EMS for their service to the community. Last year there were 697 fire alarms answered and 3,934 EMS calls, for a total of 4,931 emergency responses.
