Rehoboth artist’s exhibit continues at New Castle gallery

A solo exhibit of works by Rehoboth Beach artist Susan Macintire continues through Tuesday, June 24, at Rodney Pratt Framing & Gallery, 304 Delaware St., in historic New Castle.
More than 45 original pastel and oil paintings will be on display.

Macintire’s body of work ranges from realism to impressionism. Being a native of the Delaware beaches, she has been hugely influenced by both the lifestyle and natural beauty of the coast. Macintire enjoys depicting animals she encounters around Sussex County, like crabs and turtles or goats and cows. Other pieces show nostalgic beach locations, like the Rehoboth Boardwalk or Lewes canal. The retired nurse has now been painting for over 20 years. She revels in the journey of learning new skills and connecting with fellow artists.
