UNICO Rehoboth Beach presents Opera at the Beach

UNICO Rehoboth Beach Chapter presented Opera at the Beach Oct. 22 at St. Edmond Church, featuring Andrea Arena, mezzo soprano; and Dante Fiore, tenor. Arena has been recognized for her extraordinary talents through her ability to bring polished classical style and rich soulful emotion to the operatic stage. A native Delawarean, and a graduate of the University of Delaware, she was voted “Delaware’s Top Diva” in Delaware Today’s “Best of Delaware.” Fiore has performed leading roles in world and U.S. premieres.  Accomplished musician Matthew Jewell, pianist, accompanied them. 

UNICO is the largest Italian-American service organization in the U.S., with chapters in over 35 states.  As a national organization it aims for members to be of service to the community, to promote Italian heritage and culture, to promote, support and assist charitable, scientific, cultural, educational and literary projects, and to cooperate with others in civic, social and cultural development. The local chapters serve the community with projects that reflect these goals. Funds raised from the performance will be given to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Amatrice, Italy.
