Tonight our PLANT-STRONG dinner honors all the women, children and men who march for human dignity, civil and political rights, environmental sanity, reproductive rights, and affordable healthcare. If we want a just and compassionate society, then we must consume foods that strengthen and heal humans in body, mind and spirit and cause no harm to animals. We invite you to join us in choosing to eat PLANT-BASED foods for personal and planetary health.

The recipe for PLANT-STRONG PEA SOUP follows:
Start with a bag of dry split peas, 8 cups of water, a bay leaf, a little salt, and a teaspoon of dry mustard. Then simmer on low in a large soup pot for ½ hour while chopping 2 onions, 5 garlic cloves, 3 carrots, 3 stalks of celery and preparing 1 thin sliced potato. Add to the peas in the pot and continue simmering until tender (1-3 hours). Add more water to desired thickness, add 4 tablespoons red wine vinegar, a tablespoon low sodium soy sauce, and a squirt of SRIRACHI sauce for kick.

And here is a link to the amazing vegan BLT sandwich we had with our PLANT-STRONG PEA SOUP:
