Sussex County clubs attend GFWC Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs fall meeting

Delaware State General Federation of Women's Clubs were called to order by state President Jane Folz at the fall executive board meeting held Oct. 18 at the Sheraton Hotel in Dover.

Meeting break-out sessions began the day, and county vice presidents discussed her new agenda with their newly elected presidents and chairwomen.

Henrietta Belcher-Stack, Sussex vice president, laid out her threefold vision for the eight Sussex County clubs: an alliance of Sussex clubs and organizations,  community recognition and increased membership through public awareness. The Sussex County clubs include Acorn Club of Seaford, President Sue Ockels; Delmar New Century Club, President Brenda Morris;  Laurel New Century Club, President Suzanne Layton; Milton Century Club, President Maryann Donnan; Selbyville Community Club, President Frances Dennis; Village Improvement Association, President Carolyn Billingsley; Women's Club of Indian River, President Muriel Pfeiffer; and Zwaanendael Women's Club, President JoAnne Koehler.

Sussex County upcoming event 2012-13 rack cards were distributed to each of the county presidents to place in their communities.

The General Federation of Women's Clubs, founded in 1890, is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. GFWC is one of the world's largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women's volunteer service organizations.
