Mariner boys' basketball logs undefeated season
The Mariner Middle School boys' basketball team went undefeated this season, winning all 11 games. This is the first time in Mariner's basketball history. The team is coached by Terry Hazzard, Bryant Hazzard and Lawrence Slayton.
The coaches' philosophy is, "You're a student first and athlete second." Terry Hazzard gives mandatory study hall each week before practice, and the athletes have raised their GPAs since the beginning of the season. The athletes were also invited to the Capitol Classic Tournament held at Central Middle School in Dover, where the team placed fourth in the state.
