The following is a list of some regulations you need to know this season *:
• Panfish like crappie, bluegill, perch etc. - Daily limit 50, maximum 25 of any single species. No minimum size for the freshwater small fry.
• Largemouth bass - 12-inch minimum size and six fish limit per day. Whenever possible, please try to release bass so other anglers may have the pleasure of catching them.
• Croaker - Minimum size limit of eight inches. No creel limit.
• Striped bass - Two fish daily limit. Minimum size is one fish 24-28 inches and one fish greater than 28 inches.
• Tautog - Minimum size 14 inches, limit of ten fish from July 1 to March 31. Limits and sizes are reduced to three fish, 15 inches from April 1 to June 30, being more restrictive because of the spring spawning season and the fishery is closed totally Sept. 8 -18.
• Summer flounder - Minimum size 17.5 inches, daily limit of four fish.
• Sea bass - Minimum size of 11 1/2 inches. Creel limit is 25.
• Bluefish - Bag limit ten.
• Trout (weakfish) - Minimum size 14 inches, bag limit 14 fish.
• Clams - Limit of 100 per day for residents; 50 for nonresidents; and 500 with a permit. Must be at least 1.5 inches wide.
• Crabs - Hard shell crabs, minimum five inches, tip to tip. All orange sponge or pregnant crabs must be released. Peeler crabs must be three inches long (tip to tip). Female crabs, with U shaped aprons, have no size limit. Softshells must be at least 3.5 inches long. One bushel per crabber permitted.
