Cape Region Golf Information
Courses: Full Size, Executive, Little Par | Minituare Golf

Cape Region golfers have a choice of 5 full-size golf courses, 4 executive-length layouts, and a relaxed little par 3 course. Here’s the rundown, from north to south. All rates include carts where applicable and are subject to change. Call individual courses for tee time availability and any specials.

Full Size Courses

The Rookery
Route 16 and Route 1, Milton
684-3000
Opening mid-July
Rates from opening to September 15:
$54 nonresidents, $49 Delaware residents with cart. This is a 6,400-yard, 18-hole course, designed and built by local PGA professional Pete Oakley and well-respected golf course superintendent Chris Adkins. The fifteenth hole is likely to become the signature challenge, a mid- length par 3 with an island green.

Heritage Inn and Golf Club
Postal Lane and Route 1, Lewes
644-3860
Rates: $35 with cart for 18 holes, $25 with cart for 9. Twilight and walking rates are available. This course opened for play this spring. It’s a fun-looking, full-size 9-hole design, featuring a challenging par 5 and some tricky par 4s. The location behind the outlet shops and the Pelican Square Shopping Center will make it convenient for golfers looking for a quick round.

Old Landing Golf Course
Old Landing Road, Rehoboth
227-3131
Rates: $44 with cart. Twilight and walking rates are available. The oldest regulation 18-hole public course in the Cape Region continues to improve its playing conditions with several changes, including full irrigation and new bunkering. The 15th and ninth holes produce holes-in-one with sometimes surprising regularity.

Baywood Greens
Long Neck Road, Long Neck
947-9800
Rates May 26th through Labor Day:
Mon.- Thurs. $56, Fri.- Sun. and Holidays $68, including cart and warmup at practice range/greens. Twilight and 9-hole rates are available. A few years ago Baywood Greens opened up its front nine to public play and great reviews. Golfers uniformly praised the beautiful design and the challenge it presented, reminiscent of golf in the Carolinas. On May 26 the course opened its second set of nine holes, on the way to the eventual expansion to 27 holes. Look for an equally stunning layout in which very little expense was spared.

Bear Trap Dunes
Central Avenue, Ocean View, 537-7941
Rates: $70 Mon. – Thurs., $80 Fri. – Sun. including cart. Twilight rates also available. Last year this public course opened up for play for the first time. The builders took advantage of the sand discovered on site during construction, and added some intriguing challenges and visual appeal. Public golfers visiting this regulation 18-hole course just south of Ocean View will not likely see another course like it anytime soon.

Executive Courses

Marsh Island
Camp Arrowhead Road, Angola, 945-4653
Rates: $33 during the week; $35 on weekends, including cart. Twilight golf daily for $20. Senior rate, $28, Monday to Friday, including cart. This 4,500-yard, 18-hole course will emphasize golfers’ iron play, while having enough length to bring out the woods on a few occasions. The Angola area course should be a popular destination for Long Neck visitors seeking to avoid beach traffic.

Golf Park at Rehoboth
Route 1 and Country Club Road, Rehoboth, 227-2500
Rates: $24 to $28, including cart for Creekside Course. Golfers coming to this year-old layout just outside Rehoboth city limits have three different playing options, all of them fun. The Creekside course is an executive-length 18-hole design, with some challenging par 4s mixed in with a variety of par 3s. The facility also has a 9-hole pitch-and-putt course and an 18-hole putting green that will sharpen short game skills.

The Salt Pond
Road 360, Bethany Beach, 539-7525
Rates: $16 to $27 including cart. The oldest executive length course in the Cape Region, just north of Ocean View and Bethany Beach, is popular year-round. The 16th and 18th holes are two of the toughest shots over water than any golfer could want to try.

Bethany Bay Golf Course
2 Lee Lane, Millville, 539-3833
Rates: $23. This 9-hole, mid-length course features a tough par 4 dogleg right at the 7th hole. While it is a short course, it has its demands on players coming to the site west of Millville.

Little Par

Midway Par 3 and Driving Range
1509 Highway One, North of Midway, 645-7955
Rates: $10 all day, no cart. This relaxed little place just north of the Midway Shopping Center between Lewes and Rehoboth is popular with juniors, seniors and beginners looking for just enough challenge at a reasonable price. The course also features a driving range for those who want to air out their long irons and drivers.
