When Dorothy’s husband died she continued to take care of Alton Lee Brittingham Jr. by herself as his health continued to worsen over the years until his death in May of 1978. Mrs. Brittingham had many obstacles to overcome in her life but she always kept a good attitude along with her strong faith in God.
