Elizabeth“Lib” Mahoney,
Annapolis matriarch

Born in Baltimore, Md. in 1913, Lib became ill at the age of six months. She stopped eating and was wasting away. The doctors were at a loss and advised her parents to take her to Lewes, where a young physician named Dr. Beebe was having success in treating this disorder. In 1994, her son Tim opened an antique and consignment shop on Rehoboth Avenue called “STUFF.” Lib drove from Annapolis once a week (at age 81) to help work the shop. She loved that business. She said, “I love to see people find something they remember from their childhood.”
“People still ask me about that wonderful lady they met at STUFF 10 years ago,” said Tim. “If you met her, you remembered her.
