Helen D. Weldie,
retired teacher
Helen Davis Weldie, 89, of Long Neck, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday April 29, 2008, at the Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes.
She was born in Galena, Md., daughter of the late James and Asa Davis.
Helen was a graduate of Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Md., and played on their basketball team.
She was an elementary school teacher in the Wilmington area from 1940 to 1979. Helen was a member of the East Gate Presbyterian Church in Long Neck. She was an avid sports fan.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Calvin Weldie; three nephews, Bill Craig, David Low, and John Low; two nieces, Ann Llewelyn and Pat Kesmodel; and a brother, Julian Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday May 5, at the East Gate Presbyterian Church, Long Neck Road, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contribution in Helen’s memory to East Gate Presbyterian Church, 34806 Church Lane, Millsboro, DE. 19966.

Harrison Posey,
retired manager
Harrison Posey, 88, of Millsboro, formerly of Boothwyn, Pa., died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center.
He was employed at Sun Oil Co., in Marcus Hook, Pa., for more than 30 years, retiring in management.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. Mr. Posey was also a member of St. George’s Chapel, Harbeson. He was a Mason with the Concord Lodge in Pennsylvania and also the Nur Temple of Wilmington.
Mr. Posey enjoyed hunting and gardening, especially his tomatoes. He was a kind and generous man whom everyone liked.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Yvonne Posey; two sons, Gary Posey of Twin Oaks, Pa., and John Posey and wife Colleen of Wilmington; one daughter, Judith Bixler and husband Vernon of Brookhaven Pa.; one stepson, Steven Caroll of Milton; two step-daughters, Sandra and Jim Sacra of Millerville, Md., and Janice Caroll of Newark; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 5 p.m., Sunday May 4, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St. Millsboro, where friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Father Max Wolf will officiate.

Kenneth A. Michelbach,
shop owner, teacher
Kenneth A. Michelbach, 85, of Rehoboth Beach, died April 27, 2008, in Ft. Myers, Fla.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy after World War II, Ken opened a small radio repair shop in Alexandria, Va., while completing his degree in radio engineering at Capitol Institute of Technology. Upon graduation, he continued to expand his shop until it became Ken Michelbach’s Television and Appliances, which he and his wife Mary Elizabeth operated for more than 35 years. Ken always supported the public school system by having vocational students train at his store. This led to his second career as a teacher at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, where he taught until he retired at the age of 71. During that time he was honored with numerous awards and created a course for which graduates were given credit in the U.S. Army.
Golf became Ken’s passion while he was still in his 20s. He was a member of The Country Club of Fairfax while a Virginia resident, and was a longtime member of Rehoboth Beach Country Club. He enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with his many friends there in the summer, then heading to Ft. Myers with them in the winter. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary Elizabeth. He is survived by his son, Kenneth of Los Angeles; his daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Donnee Ramelli of Rehoboth Beach and Bethesda, Md.; two granddaughters, Chandler Ramelli of Alexandria and Christina Ramelli of New York City; and his companion, Joan Palmer of Rehoboth Beach. A memorial service celebrating Ken’s life will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach. A reception will follow. Burial will be private. William James Brittingham,
enjoyed traveling
William James Brittingham, 82, of Ocean View, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Brittingham was born in Wilmington, son of the late William and Rowena Kee Brittingham.
Mr. Brittingham was a resident of Claymont until 1984, when he retired; he and his wife then relocated to Ocean View. He was a manager for the Howard Johnson’s on Kirkwood Highway, Newark for 21 years. He then owned and operated the Copper Kettle Restaurant in Wilmington from 1978 to 1982. Once he settled into retirement he returned to work as a salesman for Larry’s Homes in Delmar. He was a member of the Delaware Restaurant Association and the Ocean View VFW Post 7234. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre and in the Philippines. He enjoyed traveling around Europe and South America. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed music by Clay Aiken.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Brittingham. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alliene Gasser Brittingham; three daughters, Lisa Armstrong and her husband Doug of Lancaster, Pa., Lezlie Anderson and her husband Stephen of Rehoboth Beach, and Kim Gamaitoni and her husband Edward of Wilmington; two sons, J. Keith Brittingham and his wife Lana of Wilmington, and Kurt Brittingham and his wife Diane of Avondale, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A celebration of William’s life will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3, with the Rev. Randy Booth officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Entombment will be held at a later date at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A St., Wilmington, DE 19801.

Doris S. Smith,
enjoyed her family
Doris S. Smith, 81, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Cape May, N.J., daughter of the late Floyd Kimland and Sarah Elizabeth Abbott Schmierer.
Mrs. Smith was devoted to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her friends from high school (Rehoboth High, 1945), traveling with her late husband Ernest, bird watching, taking walks, and her cats and dogs. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Imhof in 1976; her second husband, Ernest Smith in 1998; and two brothers, Charles and Kenny Schmierer.
She is survived by three daughters, Penny MacLennan and her husband Angus of Lewes, Susan Hargrave and her husband Dennis of Surry, Va., and Patty Marowski and her husband John of Lewes; four sons, Vincent Imhof and his wife Zee of Milford, Jesse Imhof and his wife Rose of Rehoboth Beach, Floyd Imhof and his wife Elaine of Wallingford, Vt., and Greg Imhof and his wife Jamie of Millsboro; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan “Ginger” Batchlor and her husband Dick of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19825 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Baker officating. Interment will follow at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway Cemetery, 4470 Highway One, Rehoboth Beach. There will be no calling hours. Stephen Prescott Smith,
music collector
Stephen Prescott Smith, 49, formerly of Baltimore, Md., now a resident of Lewes, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his residence with his family by his side.
Steve was born Sept. 22, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Warren Coleman Smith and Mary Lee Fulghum Smith of Lewes.
Steve lived in San Antonio, Texas; Columbia, Md.; Baltimore; and Lewes. He attended Towson High School, graduated in 1976, then went on to the then Towson State University. His great loves were music, sports cars, motorcycles, women, photography and felines. He was a collector of silver, antique guns and bottles, and had a remarkable music collection.
At age 11, Steve contracted diabetes and continued to have one health problem after another throughout his entire life. He was able to maintain his sense of humor and face his limited life with a great deal of courage and a very positive outlook.
He was dealt a bad hand but made the absolute best of it. Steve was not one to complain, as he said to his family, “Why complain; no one really wants to hear it. If you tell them how you really feel you might not have any one stopping by.”
Steve managed the 40 West Racquet Club and later was involved in construction and property management.
He then went on to sell yachts. In 1989 he married the late Sally Porter, formerly of Washington, D.C.; they resided in Rogers Forge, Baltimore.
He will be missed by his parents; his sister, Cissy Smith Marks; brother-in-law, Paul J. Marks; his brother, Warren C. Smith Jr.; a niece, Lauren Smith Marks; a nephew, Warren Smith III; and his 20-year-old cat.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 2nd and Market streets, Lewes. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; or to the Dewey Beach Feral Cat Society, 16946 Ketch Court, Lewes, DE 19958.

Dorothy C. Marino,

Dorothy C. Marino, 81, formerly of Milford, was called home to the Lord Sunday, April 27, 2008, surrounded by her family. Dottie was born March 25, 1927, to William and Irene Wegner in North Bergen, N.J.
She married her high school sweetheart, Salvatore Marino, in 1946, and just celebrated their 62nd anniversary.
She was a longtime resident of Willingboro, N.J., then moved to Lewes, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge 2540.
She and her husband later relocated to Milford. Due to illness, she came back to New Jersey to be with her loving family.
Dot was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping, word search puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
She was a great lady who will be missed deeply.
She is survived by her loving caregiver and husband, Salvatore Marino; her three children, William Marino (Patricia), Karen Chappell (Michael), and Audrey Kerstetter (Roland); five grandchildren, William and Christopher Marino, Crystal Gardiner, and Heather and Kelly Kerstetter; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Chase, Katelyn and Evan; three siblings, William (Bud) Wegner, Ethel Wilson and Irene Bamford; a sister-in-law, Rita Lamberto; and numerous nieces and nephews along with many friends.
A memorial service will be held 1-4 p.m., Saturday, May 24, at the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540, 18544 Beaver Dam Road, Lewes. Donald Lee “Duck” Robinson, 56, of Georgetown, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at home.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Gladys Bunting Robinson.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Teresa R. Robinson, a son, Donald Robinson Jr. and his wife Carrie of Georgetown; a daughter, Lori Williams of Georgetown; brothers, Mark Robinson of Georgetown, C.R. Robinson and wife Kim of Georgetown, Ronnie Robinson and wife Denise of Georgetown, and George Ross Robinson and wife Jean of Clarksville; sisters, Carol Evans of Georgetown, Olive Karr and husband Eddie of Georgetown, and Connie Pettyjohn of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Mark, Luke and Ryder; an aunt, Irene Gray; special friends, Sinath Sam and Ricky Breasure; his beloved canine friend Brownie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Duck was a retired equipment operator. He attended Bethesda United Methodist Church in Georgetown. He was a devoted husband and father. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed racing, NASCAR and local stock car tracks. Donald enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at the Robinson Family Fun Track, 25444 Governor Stockley Road, Georgetown. Jake Breasure will officiate. Interment will be private.

Air Force veteran
Casper E. Powell Jr. departed this life on Monday, April 28, 2008, in his home in Lewes.
Born Oct. 10, 1941, in Dover, he was the son of the late Casper and Madeline Powell of Magnolia.
Cas was educated in Caesar Rodney High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a combat crew member of AKC 97. He worked in sales and owned his own construction company for many years. Cas enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Roberts; a son, Scott Powell; grandchildren, Jennifer Mumford, Nicole Merillo, Bobbie Stackeni, Brandon Powell and Olivia Powell; and one great-grandchild, Nathan Merillo; a brother, Snooky Powell; and a sister, Diane Cahall.
Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 2, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Local 132 member
Ellwood Frey, 78, of Millsboro, formerly of the Washington, D.C. area, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Renaissance Health Care Center in Long Neck.
He was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Washington, D.C., son of Capt. Harlan Frey and Adelaide Murray Frey; his mother passed away when Ellwood was 2 years old and he was raised by his father and a very caring, loving stepmother, Pearl Fennell Frey, in Takoma Park, Md.
He attended Montgomery Blair High School and was a member for 54 years of the Carpenters/Joiners Union Local 132 in Washington, D.C. Upon retirement he moved to Long Neck Village, Millsboro, where he lived until his death.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert, who was killed in World War II, his brother Leonard; his sister Gertrude Goodhue of Maryland; and his nephews, Keith Goodhue of Annapolis, Md., and Robert Frey of Chicago, Ill.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eileen Dowey Frey; a daughter, Donna Eytchison and her husband Vernon of Laurel, Md.; two sons, Steven and his wife Teri of Oviedo, Fla., and David and his wife Marvella of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Carrie and Lauren Eytchison of Laurel, Md., Rebecca Paugh and her husband Shawn of York, Pa., Steven Frey II and his wife Maria of Charlotte, N.C., Andrew Frey of Orlando, Fla., Cody Wright of Richmond, Va., Aidan and Liliana Frey of Phoenix; and five great-grandchildren.

Arlene Grace Schiller, 72, of Milton, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008, at her late residence. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Jan. 21, 1936, daughter of the late Clinton A. Doughty and Mildred A. Nimergood Doughty.
She attended the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, was a member of the Women of the Moose, Lewes, and a member of the NCO Wives Club, Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas M. Schiller; a brother, Robert Doughty; and a sister, Karen Salazar. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth E. Schiller Sr.; a son, Kenneth E. Schiller Jr. and his wife, Dianne, of Tenafly, N.J.; and a daughter, Terry L. Schiller of Milton; two brothers, Clint Doughty and Patrick Hewitt; and three sisters, Sandy Doughty, Jean Warmsbecker and Debbie Mueller, all of Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Tammy L. DeVilbiss, Bethany L. Schiller, Allyson N. Schiller, Arianna M. Schiller and Stephanie A. Schiller; and three great-grandchildren, Rashawn Bolden, Tyre’ Thomas and Da’ Jehr Roundtree.

Robert LaVere, 76, of Milford died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.
He was born in Felton, the son of the late Harry and Helen Bindschaedler LaVere.
He was an electrical estimator for Tudor Electric and J&W Electric, retiring in 1996.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed going to the stock car races.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Denney LaVere in 1988.

Pearl Mae Davis, 92, of Hartly, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Ms. Davis was born March 16, 1916, in Millsboro to the late Samuel and Martha E. Jackson Thompson.
She was a homemaker. She loved to cook, loved Emeril Lagasse recipes, loved to laugh and loved to dance. She lived for her grandkids, and the cleanest house ever kept. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Delphine Davis, and several siblings.
Ms. Davis is survived by one son, Alonzo F. Davis of Hartly; one daughter, Marguerette H. Gardner of Hartly; one son-in-law, Tyrone Gardner of Clayton; two stepdaughters, Betty Coleman of Hartly and Carol Lee Hall of Florida; one brother, Howdy Thompson of Millsboro; one sister-in-law, Bertha Thompson of Millsboro; her two dearest friends, Margaret Henson and Phoebe Martin; four grandchildren, Dwayne Davis and wife Sharon, Darlene Cunningham and husband Val, Neville Coleman, and Patrick Britt and wife Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Jack and wife Becky, Chenitra Jack, Valentino Cunningham and Kirsten Davis; three great-great-grandchildren, Davonte Adams, Savanna Jack and Darius Jack; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. Marshall Wilkins,

Marshall “Lawrence” Wilkins, 76, of Georgetown, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
Lawrence was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Marshall B. and Elvira Marvel Wilkins of Georgetown.
He was a security officer for Wilmington Trust for the past 15 years, and prior to that was a truck driver for George L. Fluharty and had also trained horses for Bill Chasanov. Lawrence had also been a coach for the Georgetown Little League where he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, and he also enjoyed going to turkey shoots.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Lynn Johnson Wilkins; three children, Janet Spray and her husband Charles of Millsboro, Keith Wilkins and his wife Kathey, and Guy Wilkins and his wife Carol, all of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Brad Breasure and his wife Angie, Scott Breasure and his wife Jacqui, Mark Wilkins and his wife Erica, Stephen Wilkins and his wife Michelle, Trevor Wilkins and Shelby Wilkins; three step-grandchildren and their families, Allen Spray, Jenny Cole and Kim Hall; five great-grandchildren, Camryn Breasure, Carter Breasure, Mark Wilkins Jr., Mollie Wilkins and Madison Wilkins; one sister, Nellie Brittingham of Millsboro; and one brother, Wayne Wilkins and his wife Doris of Georgetown.

Bettyann Jennings DiSabatino, 79, of Marco Island, Fla., formerly of Wilmington, died with her sister, Phyllis DiNardo, on Thursday, May 1, 2008.
Bettyann graduated from P.S. DuPont High School in 1946, and the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. After leaving nursing school she worked in the Maternity Division at the Delaware Memorial Hospital and then the DuPont Stone Lab in Newark. A successful blind date led Bettyann to marry her late husband, Paul E. DiSabatino in 1951. As Super-Mom, Bettyann volunteered as a school nurse at Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Francis Junior Board and the Wilmington Flower Market. Bettyann made every holiday and event special. She loved to cook, entertain and play cards with her grandchildren and spend her summers in Rehoboth Beach. Spending time with her sisters, Frances Cooper and Phyllis, as well as her fabulous friends, was always special. Bettyann was Chief Operating Officer of the DiSabatino family and fun-loving mother to Paula DiSabatino Gorman of Brecksville, Ohio, and the late Pat DiSabatino of Glen Mills, Pa.; Gail DiSabatino Showghi of Clemson, S.C.; Denise DiSabatino Allen of Dover; and Brian DiSabatino of Wilmington. Mom Mom’s spaghetti and meatballs were enjoyed by all, especially her 11 grandchildren, John McMenamin, Mark McMenamin, Matthew McMenamin, Jill DiSabatino, Justin Showghi, Alexandria Showghi, Tanner Allen, Chelsea Allen, Jacqueline DiSabatino, Jacob DiSabatino, Dylan DiSabatino; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tessie and Timmy McMenamin.
Bettyann was the most favorite mother-in-law to Michael Gorman, Anush Showghi, Ronnie Allen and Kelly DiSabatino.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 2013 Gilpin Ave., Wilmington. Viewing and burial will be private.

tool and die maker
James E. Holleran, 81, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, while recuperating from heart bypass surgery in Millsboro.
Jim was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Nov. 28, 1926, son of the late John and Ethel Daley Holleran. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Jim moved to Philadelphia to work in the music profession, playing the tuba in many area bands and orchestras. He was a tool and die maker until his retirement in 1989. He lived in Levittown, Pa., until 2000, when he moved to Millsboro, to live with his daughter and her family. His passion was music and he also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, clock repair and aeronautics. He was a member of the Long Neck CHEER Center and the VFW Post 0834 in Fallsington, Pa.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Colleen McDowell and her husband Dave of Millsboro, and their four children, Christian, James, Brent and David; his son, Dr. Daniel Holleran and his wife LuAnn of Holland, Pa., and their six children, Stephen, Kevin, Robbie, Keith, Tim and Lauren. In addition he is survived by his sister, Ethel Schlotter of Bradenton, Fla., his brother, T. Jerome Holleran of Reading, Pa., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hoffman Holleran; son, Michael; brothers, Charlie and Jack; and sisters, Rita and Lois.

Doris E. Downes, of Delmar, 75, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Laurel, daughter of the late Norman and Margie Jane Wilkerson Wingate.
Doris graduated from Laurel High School with the class of 1950 and was an active member of the Laurel Alumni Association.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Perdue and in production for General Foods before handling the bookkeeping duties for Downes Burner Service, owned and operated by her late husband, Alvin Downes Sr.
She attended Messiah’s Vineyard Church in Laurel.
She loved NASCAR and was a faithful fan of Jeff Gordon and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by six sons, Douglas Downes and his wife Cathy of Laurel, Alan Downes and his wife Barbara of Delmar, Kipp Downes and his wife Michelle of Delmar, Alvin Downes Jr. and his wife Brenda of Laurel, Gerry Downes and his wife Patti of Laurel and Darrell Downes of Charlestown, W.Va.; a sister, Naomi Lare of Delmar; two brothers, Leon Wingate and his wife Fran of Millsboro and Vernon Wingate Sr. of Laurel; nine grandchildren, Doug Downes, Heather Downes, Danielle Briggs, Tonya Lindstadt, Jennifer Downes, Wayne Downes, Michael Downes, Jason Downes and Darrell Downes Jr.; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Alvin E. Downes Sr., on Oct. 22, 2004.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m.

Dewain Pippin, 63, of Inverness, Fla., passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at his home.
He graduated from Greenwood High School, class of 1963. Dewain resided in Florida the past 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, in 2003; and his father, Gilbert Pippin.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Pippin of Milford; a sister, Yvonne Kaye Pippin of Milford; a brother, Roger W. Pippin of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three nephews, Jodie A., Jamie A. and Christopher C. Webb, all of Milton; two aunts, Geneva Greenly of Felton, and Lillian Massey of Seaford; and other relatives from Maryland, Delaware and Maine.

Ralph C. Morris, 70, of Lewes, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born May 24, 1937, in Lewes, to the late John Morris and Eliza C. Johnson Morris.
Mr. Morris was a farmer, working for Townsend’s for many years, and also was a carpenter working for himself as well as area contractors.
Mr. Morris previously attended the Israel United Methodist Church in Lewes.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alberta M. Wright Morris; his brother, Lawrence Morris of Lewes; daughters, Brenda Norman and her husband David, Teresa L. Jones and her husband Cecil of Lewes, Regina M. Morris of Woodbridge, Va., Polly A. Faulk and her husband Thomas of Laurel and Eliza C. Morris of New Castle; sons, Jeffrey L. Wright and his wife Mary of Bridgeville and Ralph C. Morris Jr. of Trenton, N.J.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior for the viewing.

former chief bailiff
Sydney Fleming Hitchens, 71, of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at her home.
Sydney was born in Dover, daughter of the late Leon John and Juanita Jester Fleming.
She began her 25-year career as a bailiff in 1974, with Superior Court in Georgetown, and was appointed in 1980 as the first female chief bailiff. She served as chief bailiff until 1997, at which time she had a brief tenure with the Court of Common Pleas until her retirement from the state of Delaware in 1998.
Sydney also was a hostess for many years at Norma’s Sub Shop, Milton, and later, for two years, at Milton House Family Restaurant.
Sydney was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, Sydney was preceded in death by a son, Neal M. Hitchens; and a brother, Terry Fleming.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles D. Hitchens; three children, Robin Donald Hitchens and wife Debbie of Lewes, David Bryan Hitchens and wife Melissa of Georgetown, and Donna Scott and husband Marty of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Amber Hitchens, Jared Hitchens Sr., Brooke Hitchens, Tyler Scott, Brian Scott, Caitlin Hitchens and Connor Hitchens; two great-grandchildren, Chase Murray and Jared Hitchens Jr.; and a brother, Bryan Fleming of Georgetown.

Mr. Wright was born on May 16, 1931, to the late Dennis and Matilda Schalitzky Wright.
He was a tow truck driver for Ruxton Towing for many years.
Mr. Wright loved camping, crabbing and model building as his hobbies.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Gary Wright of Millsboro; two daughters, Debra Johnson of Lago Vista, Texas, and Vicky Jeeter of Leander, Texas; two brothers, Ronald Wright of Baltimore, and George Wright of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Sue Van Blargan of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jack R. Maureen Ellen Ward, 42, died Monday, May 5, at home in Lewes after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was surrounded by those who love her. She was supported by the incredible staff of the Tunnel Cancer Center.

Emma “Shirley” Borden, 73, of Rehoboth Beach, died May 2, 2008, at home.
Shirley was born and raised in Salem, N.J., by the late Fred H. and Leila M. Fithian Borden. She lived in Delaware for the past 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, going to Tennessee with her son, Kevin, and was an avid Phillies, Redskins and Tennessee Volunteers fan. She was always ready for a trip to New Jersey to visit her brother, Bob, go to church and give food to the needy. Shirley adored her cockatoo, Pretty Girl. She was a strong person who had survived cancer for nine years.
She was the loving mother of Kevin D. Borden Sr. (Georgeann Keen) of Lewes, and Victoria K. Levering (Michael W.) of Bear; and the dear sister of Robert B. Borden of Lower Alloways Creek, N.J. She was the loving grandmother of Kevin D. Borden II, Michelle Espy and Lorraine Levering; and the great-grandmother of Braxton, Connor and Mason. She was predeceased by brothers Fred H. Jr. and Everett S. Borden. Judith Lee McDonald Boggs, 74, of Milton, passed away quietly in her home on Monday, May 5, 2008.
Judy enjoyed playing the piano and she and her husband Harry loved to travel.
They journeyed together to Europe and the Mediterranean, Nova Scotia, Miami, San Antonio and many areas of the northeast United States.
Judy devoted 30 years of her life to the care and education of juvenile diabetics as a licensed practical nurse.
Upon their retirement in 1995, Judy and Harry moved to Milton.
She was preceded in death by her father, John McDonald; and her mother, Golden Boka Rebecca McDonald.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Harry Edward Boggs; their five children, Jeff, Steve and his wife Joyce, Ted and his wife Cheryl, Donna Mitchell and her husband Joe, and Paul and his wife Sandy; 10 grandchildren, Jenny, Matt, Chris, Gina, Danny, Nick, Julia, Lauren Mitchell, Johanna and Cody Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Aleena and Alyssa; and her two sisters, Phyllis (Pete) Miller and Barbara (Bobbie) Tarr.

William A. Tull Sr., Townsend’s retiree
William A. Tull Sr., 76, of Millsboro, passed away May 7, 2008, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, after being stricken at home. Mr. Tull was born Oct. 17, 1931, to the late Alonzo and Edith Selby Tull.
He worked at Townsend’s Inc. of Millsboro in the automotive maintenance and parts department, retiring in 1993 after 45 years of service. He most recently worked part time at the CHEER Center in Long Neck.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Tull was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Ellendale and the CHEER Center in Long Neck.
He enjoyed family gatherings and many different sports including auto racing, NASCAR, football, tennis, hunting and more.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Corella Hall Tull; four sons, William A. Tull Jr. and his wife Lorna of Millsboro, Tyrone A. Tull and his wife Carla of Harbeson, Telford L. Tull and his wife Linda of Millsboro, and Wade B. Tull and his wife April of Georgetown; six daughters, Cynthia B. Tull of Millsboro, Vernetta Y. Swann of Millsboro, Francine R. Tolliver and her husband Roland of Upper Marlboro, Md., Tujuana T. Tull of Upper Marlboro, Katrania G. Anthony of Seaford, and Tegra L. Woody and her husband Grady of Seaford; four brothers, James Tull, David Tull and Lorenzo Tull, all of Millsboro, and Rufus Tull of Columbus, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Frances Price Herb, 82, of Lewes, formerly of Bechtelsville, Pa., passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Herb was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Green Lane, Pa., daughter of the late Martin and Katie Myers Price.
Mrs. Herb retired in 1987 from the Harness House in New Berlinville, Pa., where she had worked as an office clerk. Frances and her husband relocated to Lewes 12 years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert W. Herb; four daughters, Patricia Martin of Red Hill, Pa., Marie Gresh of Bechtelsville, Helen Heydt and her husband Kenneth of Lewes, and Florence Griffith of Lewes; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

Ronalda D’Kanya Ayers, enjoyed cooking
Ronalda D’Kanya Ayers, 29, of Lewes, departed this life suddenly Saturday, May 3, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 13, 1978, to Paulette Ayers and Ronald Lewis. She was raised in the Lewes area and completed her education in the Cape Henlopen School District.
“Nada,” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. In fact, she earned her living as a cook working at several restaurants, with her last place of employment being the Rusty Rudder. She enjoyed baking cookies, cakes and pies.
Ronalda leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Rasheed Ayers, Rakwan Mifflin and Ronika Mifflin, of Lewes; her parents, Paulette Ayers of Lewes and Ronald Lewis of Milton; her siblings, Ronnetta Ayers, DeVaughn Ayers, Russell Ayers, all of Lewes, Andrea Pitts of Harrington, Nikki Pitts, Geovannii Johnson and Candace Johnson, all of Long Neck; maternal grandparents, Margaret Ayers of Lewes and James E. Alfred A. Stango, former Lewes mayor
Alfred A. Stango, 93, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008. He was born to Joseph and Jeni Stango in Newark, N.J., on Dec. 23, 1914. He married Madeline Rae Stewart in 1939 in Washington, D.C. In 1952 the family moved from Silver Spring, Md., to Lewes, where for 23 years Al owned and operated a Western Auto store.
He held many offices – president of the Lewes Lions Club, president of the Lower Delaware Shrine Club, president of the Delaware League of Local Governments, president of Sussex Cities of Lower Delaware, chairman of the Adult Entertainment Commission for the state of Delaware, board member of Beebe Hospital, director of the Lewes Historical Society, Lewes city councilman for six years and mayor for 24 years.
In 1992, when Al retired from being mayor, the City of Lewes honored him by naming a park after him, so if you ever get to Lewes, make sure you visit the Alfred A. Stango Park.
In 1996, Al and Madeline became full-time residents of Largo, Fla. because of family. Since his kids were in Florida he wanted his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know their grandparents. So you see Al’s family loved him and are proud of him and his heritage.
Al was involved in the Ridge Groves Condo Association and the Italian-American Club, where he served as president for both, and the Elks Club.
Al is survived by his wife, Madeline; son Marty (Hilda) of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Marilyn (Tom Ryan) of Largo; granddaughter Deborah Proctor (Ken) of Hudson, Fla.; grandson David Gooding of Valrico, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Katherine, Kenny, and Samantha Jo Proctor and Devon Gooding.

Daniel Norris Lynch, 49, of Lewes, died suddenly on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 23, 1958, in Washington, D.C., son of the late John T. and Clare Norris Lynch.
Mr. Lynch formerly played drums professionally in the D.C. area for various rock and roll groups. He also had worked as a chef at the prestigious resorts of Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla. He loved good food and good music. He loved his family dearly.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife, JoAnn Risk Lynch; daughter, Maureen Lynch of Lewes; sisters Debbie, Ann Marie, Clare, Mary Jo and Colleen; and brothers John, Dennis, Brendan and Terry.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, King Charles Avenue and Laurel Street, Rehoboth Beach.

She is survived by her children, Barry Knier, Paul Dunstan, Russell Dunstan and David Dunstan; her sister, Hellen Sites; brother-in-law, Charles Becktold; grandchildren, John Dunstan, Hillary Dunstan, Tiffany Arseneau and Amber Arseneau; and great-grandchild, Grace Bishop.

William Tull Sr., Townsend’s retiree
William A. Tull Sr., 76, of Millsboro, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, after being stricken at home.
Mr. Tull was born Oct. 17, 1931, son of the late Alonzo and Edith Selby Tull.
He worked in the automotive maintenance and parts department at Townsend’s Inc., in Millsboro, retiring in 1993 after 45 years of service. He most recently worked part time at the CHEER Center in Long Neck, near Millsboro.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was also a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Ellendale, and the CHEER Center in Long Neck.
Mr. Tull enjoyed family gatherings and many different sports, including auto racing, NASCAR, football, tennis and hunting.
Mr. Tull was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Tull, and a son-in-law, Leander Anthony.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Corella Hall Tull; four sons, William A. Tull Jr. and his wife Lorna of Millsboro, Tyrone A. Tull and his wife Carla of Harbeson, Telford L. Tull and his wife Linda of Millsboro; and Wade B. Tull and his wife April of Georgetown; six daughters, Cynthia B. Tull of Millsboro, Vernetta Y. Swann of Millsboro, Francine R. Tolliver and her husband Roland of Upper Marlboro, Md., Tujuana T. Tull of Upper Marlboro, Katrania G. Anthony of Seaford and Tegra L. Woody and her husband Grady of Seaford; four brothers, James Tull, David Tull and Lorenzo Tull, all of Millsboro, and Rufus Tull of Columbus, Ga.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Ellendale, with interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Timothy Lee Bailey, restaurant chef
Timothy Lee Bailey departed this life suddenly and unexpectedly on May 10, 2008, at his home in Cool Spring. He was born April 25, 1964, to Dorothy M. Bailey and the late Cornelius Clintonskill in Marionville, Va.
Timothy received his education in the Cape Henlopen School district where he graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1983.
When he was younger, Timothy spent the summers with his grandmother in Virginia being spoiled rotten. He was very close to his Grandma Hazel and could do no wrong in her eyes.
Timothy was a kind and fun-loving person. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh with his crazy antics. He was known by many people and no matter where, he could always find someone he knew. Tim was a friend to many and there will always be a “how I met Tim Bailey” story. Timothy enjoyed spending time with his children and his family, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson, especially with his Uncle Dan. He participated in the Bike to the Beach motorcycle ride and during the spring, he could be found tinkering with his bikes getting ready to ride. Always a hard worker, he worked as a chef in various area restaurants for 25 years. He was currently employed by Baywood Greens in Long Neck. Timothy was very good at what he did and was highly complimented on his work. He had a recipe for every occasion.
He was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Timothy leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Dorothy M. Bailey of Milton; one son, Timothy Troy Bailey of Millsboro; one daughter, Taylor Gibbs of Milford; one sister, Vanessa Bailey of Milton; one nephew, Trayvon Bailey of Milton; his girlfriend, Altrenia Wright of Millsboro; six aunts, Glydis Smith (Edward) of Milton, Stella Bailey of Hare Valley, Va., Emma Nottingham of Treherneville, Va., Hannah Cypress of Hare Valley, Lola Collins (Stanford) of Machipongo, Va., Hazel Upshur (John) of Philadelphia, Pa.; two uncles, Dan Bailey of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Ronald Bailey of Milton; one great-aunt, Queenie Lewis of Milton; two very special friends, Russell Jones and Greg Bullard; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday May 17, at Pilgrim Ministry of Deliverance in Georgetown, where friends may view two hours prior. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Lewes.

Gordon E. Martin, 70, of Ocean View, formerly of Dundalk, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mr. Martin retired from General Motors in Baltimore, Md., after 27 years of service. He was a member of the UAW retirees, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes. Gordon also served as a leader of the Sea Scouts. He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Charlotte I. Martin; four children, Michael Martin and his wife Ann of Kingsville, Md., Kathy Wildberger and her husband Daniel of Essex, Md., Terrence Martin and his wife Sherryl of Hubert, N.C., and Jeffrey Martin of Rosedale, Md.; two brothers, Douglas Martin and his wife Delores of Bel Air, Md., and Bruce Martin and wife Carol of Berlin, Md.; seven grandchildren, Michael Martin Jr., Kelsey Wildberger, Daniel Martin, Troy Wildberger, Sarah Martin, Erika Martin and Hayley Martin.

William T. Mitchell, retired firefighter
William T. Mitchell Jr., 87, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 10, 1920 in Chester, Pa., son of the late WIlliam Mitchell, Sr. and the late Clara Edna Hastings Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell retired in 1978 after 28 years as a crash rescue firefighter with the Dover Air Force Base. Following retirement he owned William T. Mitchell & Son Painting for 10 years. He had served in the Philippines during World war II with the U.S. Army.
He was a former member of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed traveling, carving decoys and, most importantly, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Mitchell was predeceased by his wife, Delma Elizabeth Mitchell in 1996.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Carpenter of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sons, Robert Mitchell and his wife Peggy Anne of Salisbury, Md., Wayne Mitchell and his wife Jackie of Rehoboth Beach, William T. Mitchell III and wife Linda of Pennington, N.J., and James Mitchell of Lewes; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hitchens of Laurel and Peggy White of Lewes; and a brother, Pete Mitchell of New Hampshire.

Mr. Nguyen and his wife own and operate the Perfect Nail Salon, Midway Shopping Center.
He is survived by his wife, Tam Le; a brother, Trinh Van Nguyen of San Jose, Calif.; and two sisters, Lieu Thi Nguyen of Orange County, Calif. and Thuy Thi Nguyen of South Vietnam.

Paula L. Vermeire, nee Mountain, lost her courageous fight with pancreatic cancer Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at her home with the family at her side in Bridgeville.
Paula was a devout Christian and for all who knew her experienced her commitment to faith by her spirit, compassion, caring and gentle nature.
She immensely enjoyed being with and part of her family and attending to her home and garden.
She was the caring and devoted wife to Gregory J. Vermeire; perpetual “mother” and best friend to Michelle L. Brooks, Victoria E.S. Vermeire and David V. Vermeire; loving daughter of George and Sandra Mountain; devoted sister of Steven D. and wife Nancy Mountain and Georgette Rice and husband Mike.
She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Christian funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, at Union United Methodist Church, Second and Laws streets, Bridgeville.

William “Bill” Chambers, 63, of Seaford, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at his home.
He was born in Onancock, Va., son of the late Joseph and Virginia Chambers.
Bill was a retired roofer, working for Tri-State Roofing, with more than 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Chambers and Johnny Chambers; and two sisters, Betty Blades and Charlotte Eder.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha Chambers of Seaford; sons, Mark Chambers and William Jeff Chambers, both of Seaford; a daughter, Billie Jo Loockerman of Laurel; brothers, Jack Chambers and Milton Chambers, both of Laurel; a sister, Ginny Mae of Laurel; his grandchildren, Heather Chambers, Christina Chambers, Amber Chambers, Tammy Loockerman, David Loockerman, James Fisher Jr., Brittney Foskey and Jeffery Chambers; a great-grandchild, Niya Lopez; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 15, at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, Laurel.

Bruce O. Brittingham, water plant operator
Bruce O. Brittingham, 61, of Delmar, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 12, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
He was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Delmar, son of the late James Manford Brittingham and Mary Elizabeth Lewis Brittingham.
Bruce served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After he entered the Army in February 1964, he served overseas in many countries, such as Korea, Vietnam, Germany and Thailand. As U.S. Army sergeant first class, Bruce retired in February 1984.
He was a life member of the Delmar Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8276.
Bruce also worked for 20 years as a water plant operator with the city of Salisbury, Md.
Bruce was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Delmar, where he served as a deacon for many years.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, a faithful fan of the Washington Redskins and loved hunting waterfowl and deer.
Bruce is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Barbara Ann Kauffman Brittingham, whom he married June 18, 1967; a daughter, Regina Ward of Delmar; two grandchildren, Logan and Tala Ward; a sister, Doris LeGates and her husband John of Millsboro; four brothers, Jim Brittingham and his wife Shirley of Millsboro, Louis Brittingham and his wife Billie of Killeen, Texas, Bill Brittingham and his wife Becky of Delmar, and Alvin Brittingham and his wife Judy of Newport News, Va.; a son-in-law, Mike Ward of Delmar; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, in Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, immediately followed by a funeral service.
The Rev. Barry Devine will officiate.
Interment with military honors will follow services Friday at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.

Eleanor V. Amoroso Green, 89, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2008, at Heartland Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Rosina Fortino Amoroso. She worked as a part-time housekeeper at St. Anthony’s Rectory for 25 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and BVM Sodality.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was predeceased by her husband, Francis A. Green Sr. in 1986; her brothers, Dominick, John and Albert Amoroso; her sister, Jessie Scotoloti; and her daughter-in-law, Sally Green.
Mrs. Green is survived by her sons, Francis A. Jr. and his wife, Maria Aiello-Green of Lewes, George J. of Wilmington, and Robert J. of Newark; her daughter, Eleanor A. Green of New Castle; her sister, Margaret Olivere of Wilmington; nine grandchildren, Frank, Lisa, Claire, Julie Ann, Jason Mahon, Bryan, Christopher, Jon and Katie; and two great-grandsons, Jack and Joseph.

Janet “Twinks” L. Rhoads-Trotto, 72, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 21, 1935, in Ephrata, Pa., daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Sensenig Blantz.
Janet, who was raised by her late mother and late stepfather, Issy Gockley, relocated to Delaware with her husband nine years ago. She was formerly from Lancaster, Pa., where she owned and operated the R&R Lounge for 25 years and from Rock Hall, Md., where she tended bar for a few years. She moved to Delaware so she could devote her time to being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, John A. Trotto; two sisters, Ruth Gockley, and Barb Alexander and her husband Larry, all of Ephrata, Pa.; a niece, Sara Alexander of Ephrata; three stepdaughters,
Theresa Price and husband Walter of Elkton, Md., Kelly Campbell and her husband Jeff of Elkton, and Tracey Miloway-Trotto of Newark; a stepson, Steven Trotto of Elkton; six step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. All services are private.

Teresa V. Ireland, Delaware Tech retiree
Teresa V. Ireland, 61, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2008, surrounded by her family after a 27-year experience with breast cancer.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., Mrs. Ireland was the daughter of William and Florence Peterson Vernotico. At the age of 13, Terry moved to Milford, and she graduated from Milford High School in 1964. She worked at Delaware Technical & Community College in the Payroll and Personnel Department, retiring in 1996 after more than 10 years of service. She also worked part-time with the Candlelight Dinner Theater and bartended at Gallucio’s. Terry was a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church and the Parish Council. She showed constant support to several charities and causes.
Teresa will be dearly missed by her husband of 35 years, Terrance D. Ireland; her daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and James Galati of Strafford, N.J.; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Katrina of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Tess, Shanna, Tori, Rachael, Nico, Lilly, Fallon and Liam; and her sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Harry Baldwin of Lewes. Terry will be remembered for her strong spirit and constant understanding which she displayed through her life and her actions. Terry always used her spirituality to overcome the experiences which she faced on a daily basis. Terry has taught us all how to use our own ability as she did to make life as good as it can be.

Mildred Cropper Young, 87, of Lewes, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
She was born March 11, 1921, in Williamsville, daughter of the late William S. Cropper and Ella M. Daisey Cropper.
Mrs. Young attended Selbyville High School and later worked for many years as a beautician. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, needlework and following genealogy.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Unity Chapter 16; the Daughters of the American Revolution; and the Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John M. Potts; her second husband, Eugene Franklin Young; a son, John Jeffrey Potts Sr.; brothers, Denver W. Cropper, Hall Cropper and William S. Cropper; and a sister, Verlie Cropper.
She is survived by a brother, Oliver Cropper of Fenwick; grandsons, John J. Potts Jr. of Newark and Douglas E. Potts and wife Tanya of Townsend; niece, Janice Pepper of Milton; and several other nieces and nephews.

Daniel was a self-employed salesmen of auto parts and equipment, and he served in the United States Marine Corps. Donald Eugene Snyder, 73, of Long Neck, formerly of York, Pa., passed away at home Sunday May 18, 2008.
He was born in York, the son of the late Frank and Ellen Spangler Snyder. He was a graduate of William Penn High School in York and a retired toolmaker for Caterpillar Inc. Donald was deacon of East Gate Presbyterian Church in Long Neck. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Snyder.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra Kinsey Snyder; two daughters, Barbara Jean Spangler and her husband Raymond, and Karen Ann Veilleux and her husband Terry; a son, Craig Snyder and his wife Jane; 10 grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Veilleux, Savannah and Quin Snyder, Raymond, Christine, Bonnie, Jill, Beverly, and Danny Spangler. Thomas M. Whiteman Jr., Vietnam veteran
Thomas M. Whiteman Jr., 63, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2008.
He was born June 2, 1944, in Washington, D.C., a son to the late Thomas M. Whiteman and Elizabeth F. Whiteman. Surviving are his sister, Mary Whiteman; children, Amy Harrison, Jeffrey Whiteman and Kimberly Whiteman; grandchildren, Emily Harrison and Regan Harrison.
He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and the University of Virginia Law School. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Army, 1962-65. He enjoyed photography and technology. He loved his family and friends dearly. He will never be forgotten.

Robert L. Streeter died March 6, 2008, in Rockville, Md., from congestive heart failure. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Poole Streeter, who hailed from Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Born in Oakmont, Pa., Bob was the son of the late Robert L. and Louise Rapalje Streeter.
He was a Merchant Marine engineering officer during World War II and a naval officer in the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Wheatear first as engineering officer and then as executive officer.
Bob graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and pursued advanced studies in mechanical engineering at Pennsylvania State University where he was an instructor in that field. He also taught mechanical engineering at the University of Kentucky and at the University of Virginia. Bob’s engineering career spanned 48 years, during which time he and his family lived in several Mid-Atlantic states.
Regardless of where they were living, the family’s holidays were nearly always spent in Rehoboth Beach. After his wife passed in 1997, Bob resided in southern Delaware for nearly a decade, making his home first in Rehoboth Beach, then in Lewes and finally in Seaford.
He is survived by his son, Mike Streeter, with his wife, Avonda, of Columbia, S.C.; his daughter, Robin Streeter, wife of Michael Parr, of Chevy Chase, Md.; a sister, Anne Rogers, of northern California; a cousin, Janet Kay, of Woodbridge, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, Md., with the Rev. Marcia Wilkinson officiating. Bob will be interred at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery next to his wife.
The family suggests donations to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Bob’s memory.

Elizabeth Wright, college professor
Elizabeth Truman Wright, known locally as “Betty,” 94, died Thursday, May 15, 2008.
She moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1975 from Falls Church, Va., after her retirement as an associate professor of English at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Elizabeth Wright was born in Chardon, Ohio, on Feb. 3, 1914. She was a child of the Depression and worked from the time she was in high school. She worked her way through Allegheny College and graduated in 1939.
She married Robert Wright in 1940. The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on April 20.
After moving to the Washington area in 1942, she resumed her education and her working career as soon as her two young sons were old enough to permit it.
She earned a master’s degree in foreign affairs from George Washington University, and subsequently a second master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Michigan.
Her master’s thesis at George Washington was a study of the original handwritten letters and dispatches of Nicholas Trist, the American diplomat who negotiated the peace treaty after the Mexican War in 1848. She also wrote a study of the London Economic Conference of 1933 with documentation and testimony from Professor Edward “Ted” Acheson, a participant at the conference and the brother of Secretary of State Dean Acheson.
Her graduate work in linguistics at Michigan was related to her specialty of teaching English composition to foreign students. In addition to her teaching she was the first woman appointed an academic dean at George Washington: Dean of the University Division (Non-Degree Students).
After moving to Rehoboth Beach she enjoyed organizing frequent trips to the British Isles, the coast of Norway, Australia and New Zealand, and across the United States and Canada. During this time she cooperated with the English actor, Donald Sinden, in writing the history of her mother’s family, the Sindens, in Sussex County, England, the United States and Canada.
She overcame congenital back problems and repeated bouts with cancer. Her guiding motto to herself and others was always, “Just rise above it.”
Elizabeth Wright is survived by her husband, Robert; her sons, Michael and Anthony; her sister, Mary Daugherty (98); and six grandchildren, Ellen Mcguyer, Matthew, Christopher, James, Caitlin, and Terence. Her devoted cat was named Luna. Betty was the heart of the family.
An informal gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 15, at Cloud 9 restaurant, 234 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Elaine Elizabeth Casale, CHEER volunteer
Elaine Elizabeth Casale, 79, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, at home.
She was born May 31, 1928, in Patterson, N. J. to the late Thomas and Isabella Yarton Hood.
Ms. Casale worked the assembly line constructing brake assemblies many years ago. She was very involved with her family and friends who were the love of her life. She worked as a CHEER Center volunteer for as long as she could before her illness. She loved having her nieces from New Jersey down, loved “colorful” jokes, was the life of the party and always loved having a good time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Hood and Thomas Hood Jr., and one sister, Adelaide Gibson.
Ms. Casale is survived by two sons, Michael Casale and his wife Lisa of Dagsboro, and Robert D. Freeland and his wife Diana of Sonoma, Calif.; one sister, Muriel Phillips of Oakland, N.J.; four grandchildren, Michael and Garrett Casale and Bobby and Lilly Freeland; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved canine “Dee Dee.”
Services will be held at noon, Thursday, May 29, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon. Chaplain Courtney Mys, Delaware Hospice chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Route 26, east of Dagsboro.

Gladys J. Lefner, retired secretary
Gladys J. Lefner, 90, of Hartly, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in the Harrison House, Georgetown.
Ms. Lefner was born April 29, 1918, in Hartly, to the late Anton Lefner and Anna (Tylner) Lefner. Ms. Lefner graduated from John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna in 1935.
After graduation she moved to New York to work for an accountant for a couple of years.
When she returned to Hartly, she went to work as a secretary for Sterling-Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Dover and worked there until her retirement.
Ms. Lefner enjoyed reading, gardening and journaling.
She was a member of the Hartly United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose Lefner, Lillian Sheppard and Joseph Lefner.
Ms. Lefner is survived by her sister, Elsie Moore of Georgia; two nieces, Ruthann Coulson and her husband Bruce of Felton and Susan Trogdan and her husband James of Cairo, Ga.; one nephew, Joseph Lefner and his wife Carol of Hartly; and her great-nephew, Christopher Lefner, and her great-niece, Heather Lefner, both of Hartly.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Hartly United Methodist Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Louise Hiller Poole, former journalist
Louise Hiller Poole died peacefully on May 22, 2008, in her apartment at the Methodist Country House in Greenville.
Louise was born April 26, 1911, in Flushing, N.Y. She was the seventh of nine children born to Helen May and Charles Eldredge Hiller.
Following graduation from Swarthmore College in 1933 with a bachelor’s degree in English, she worked for the New Bedford Standard Times writing articles for the obituary and society pages, and later human interest feature articles.
On Sept. 11, 1935, she married William Poole of Wilmington, son of Edward Gilpin and Louise Fahnestock Poole, in the Friends Meeting in Mattapoisett, Mass.. Their marriage continued for more than 61 years until William’s death in 1997.
Louise dedicated her life to making a loving home for her husband, four children and two AFS exchange students who called her Mom. Though raised a Quaker, Louise was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years. She lived by the Quaker values of peace, simplicity and equality, opposing violence and accepting everyone as a friend.
Louise is survived by a sister, Martha Lorraine of Mattapoisett; and four children, William Poole of Elkton, Md., Richard Eldredge Poole of Henlopen Acres, Stephen Carroll Poole of West Chester, Pa. and Virginia Poole Bainbridge of Ledyard, Conn. Over the years, spouses of her children and grandchildren, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren have been added to the circle of her family. Louise will be missed by her family and friends for her warmth and humor. Her quiet love and acceptance touched many lives.
There will be a gathering for remembrance of her life at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania Ave. at Rodney Street, Wilmington.

Robert C. Belmont, retired police officer
Robert C. Belmont, 74, of Lewes, and formerly of Upper Chichester, Pa., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1934 i,n Ridley Park, Pa., son of the late Charles John and Frances Virginia (Barlow) Belmont.
Mr. Belmont was raised in Boothwyn, Pa. He was an Upper Chichester police officer for more than 36 years and a lifetime member of the Boothwyn and Linwood Fire Company. He recently celebrated 22 years as a member of the Penn Lodge 709 F. & A.M. of Pennsylvania. He also served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. James Anglican Parish of Georgetown. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife,, Janet B. Belmont; his former wife Florence Belmont; a daughter, Beverly and son-in-law Harry Culbert; three grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany and Zachary; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Marie; stepchildren, Kim Zarett and Paul Losak; sisters Patricia O’Berg of New Jersey and Elizabeth Frank of Maryland; and a brother, Charles Belmont of New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.

Roy Andrews, retired master sergeant
Roy Andrews, 74, of Rehoboth Beach, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Sparta, N.C ., the son of the late Alonzo and Lori (Sparks) Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was retired from Dover Air Force Base where he was a master sergeant; he served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war. Following his military career, he owned and operated four charter fishing boats: Lady Esther, Missene 3, Missene 2 and Super Shark, out of Indian River Inlet for 40 years. He was a member of the Ocean View VFW Post 7234 and he enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, working on boat engines and boats in general.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tressie Wiley.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Esther E. (Leftwich) Andrews; his daughter, Michelle Andrews of Lewes; his son Jeffrey Andrews and his wife Jamie of Lewes; a grandson, Austin Brock; a granddaughter, Kearah Andrews of Lewes; two sisters, Treva Deboard of Maryland and Rosalie Tenney of Maine.

Gloria G. Rich, civic, church volunteer
Gloria Giorgia (Marrone) Rich, 79, of Lewes, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Utica, N.Y,. daughter of the late John B. and Jennie (Ciruzzi) Marrone.
Mrs. Rich relocated to the Lewes area 14 years ago after living in New York, Seaford and Wilmington. She was a member of the Lewes and Cape Henlopen Senior Centers and she volunteered at the New Life Thrift Shop.
She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Helena’s parish in Wilmington.
She always enjoyed being a member of garden clubs in the various communities where she resided. She was also a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Teresa Micucci and a brother, Peter Marrone.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Webster Rich; two daughters, Barbara R. Kambarn and her husband Bob of Allen, Md., and Anne R. Miller and her husband Steve of Cary, N.C.; three sons, Charly Rich of Newark, Bill Rich and his wife Jongrak of Boca Raton, Fla. and Jack Rich of Eden, Md.; grandchildren Lynn Matava and her husband Joe of Hebron, Md., Carrie Kambarn of Salisbury, Md., and Daniel, Michael, Kelsey and Ashley Miller, all of Cary, NC; great-grandchildren, Maya and Annabel Matava of Hebron, Md.; daughter-in-law Nancy Rich of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Peters and Thelma Fitzgerald, both of Utica, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Ralph Duval Hall, Master Mason
Ralph Duval Hall, 83, of Milford, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
Mr. Hall was born in Milford, the son of the late George H. and Edith Rea (Watson) Hall.
Ralph served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 aboard the U.S. Martin DE30 in World War II.
After his tour of duty in the Navy, he graduated from Milton High School in 1946.
He worked for I.G. Burton in Milford for 32 years from 1946 to 1978.
For the next 13 years, Ralph worked for Danny Roe and Sons from 1978 to 1991.
He was a Master Mason of Temple Lodge No. 9, Grand Lodge, A.F. and A.M. of Delaware, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Evergreen Forest No. 49, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6483 and the American Legion Post 3.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Chadda Davidson Hall in 2004; and his sister, Edith Niblett.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Horsey and her husband Rick of Dover ,and Cindy Collins and her husband Kenny of Milford; four grandchildren, Amy West and her husband Michael of Middletown, Ryan Horsey and his wife Joy of Smyrna, Shelby Collins of Charlotte, N.C., and Shawn Collins and his fiancée, Alaena Kollock of Milford; and his great-grandchildren, Riley Horsey, Paige, Mack and Landon West.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford, with interment in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.

Ellis Ray Williams, enjoyed helping others
Ellis “Elroy” Ray Williams, 47, of Milton, was born July 18, 1960, son of Louise Farmer and the late Ellis “Al” Williams. He departed this life on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Ellis graduated from Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes.
In his spare time, Ellis loved to go crabbing and fishing, giving a helping hand to others if he could.
Most of all he loved to laugh, crack jokes, party hard and have a good time with many of his close friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Williams; and a brother, Marvin Miller.
Ellis leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Louise Farmer of Milton; three daughters, Tangy Williams of Millsboro, Cynthia Barnes of Milton and Letanya Foster of Dover; six grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Lee and Margret Ayres of Princess Anne, Md., and Garland and Brenda Briscoe of Lewes; many nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; a host of aunts, uncles and many other relatives; a few special friends, James Dean of Seaford, John “Duke” Jefferson of Rehoboth Beach, Thurman Batson of Milton, Chris “Red” Weatherly of Lewes and Anthony “Chief” Savage of Milton; and a host of many more friends.
Services were held at Faith United Methodist Church, Belltown/Lewes, with interment at Friendship Baptist Church, Lewes.

James Richard Walker, World War II veteran
James Richard “Dick” Walker, 90, of Millsboro, formerly of Levittown, Pa., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 28, 1917, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late George E. Van Martin and Florence Walker.
Dick enjoyed raising orchids in his greenhouse. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre in Burma, India. He was a member of the VFW in Morrisville, Pa., and Oak Orchard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie C. McGovern Walker in 1999.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce E. Perroni and her husband Thomas of Morrisville; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Seipp and her husband Edward of Langhorne, Pa., and Marie Mannion and her husband Jack of Venice, Fla.; two stepsons, Harry Webster and his wife Eleni of Greece and Chuck Webster of Washington.

Patricia Claire Vogel, avid crafter
Patricia Claire Martin Vogel, 74, of Lewes, passed away at home Wednesday, May 28, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1933. Pat grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1968 she moved with her family to Laurel, Md., and later relocated to Columbia, Md. Pat was employed at Head Sportswear and later was part owner of the family business, Creative Assemblies Inc.
Pat and her husband of 50 years, Alan, retired to Lewes in 1995. An avid crafter, Pat had a knack for turning her talent into prosperous endeavors. She enjoyed trading on eBay, travel and playing bridge.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Bernard Vogel and wife Jeannie of Westminster, Md.; and two daughters, Nancy Scaggs and husband Gary of Crownsville, Md., and Lisa Hardy and husband Patrick of Elkridge, Md. Pat was also blessed with seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Route 1 at Five Points, Lewes. Susan Cunningham Kidd, 57, of Lewes, formerly of Summerville, Pa., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 27, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with Shy-Drager Syndrome.
She was born July 23, 1950, in Lewes, the daughter of Phillip and Sarah Cunningham and graduated from Lewes High School in 1968.
Sue is survived by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Raymond Kidd Jr.; a son, Brian and his wife Erin, a son, Richard, and a daughter, Lindsey, all of Lewes; her brothers and sisters, Michael Cunningham of Lewes, P. Rodney Cunningham of Boca Raton, Fla., Paul Cunningham of Lewes, Sally Hrycyk of Boca Raton, Jack Cunningham of Lewes and Carol Brown of Milford; and many nieces and nephews.
Sue’s life was dedicated to creating a loving home for her husband and three children. Her unwavering strength and courage came from her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the love of her family. Sue was an inspiration to everyone whose lives she touched.
Friends may visit with the family for a viewing from noon to 2 p.m., Monday, June 2, immediately followed by a celebration of Sue’s life at Parsell Funeral Home in Lewes, with interment at Bethel Methodist Cemetery.

Joseph R. Wheatley Jr., skilled craftsman
Joseph R. Wheatley Jr., 53, of Bridgeville, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Easton, Md., as a result of a motorcycle accident. His companion, Linda Marie Shea, also died in the accident. Mr. Wheatley was born in Seaford on June 20, 1954, son of Joseph R. Wheatley Sr. and the late Marilda West Wheatley.
Mr. Wheatley was employed by Bennett Premiere Motor Sports, formerly known as Harley Davidson of Seaford, since 2003. He became a part of the Harley family in every way. His skills as a craftsman, his ability to organize and his special attention to design and detail permitted him to help the organization immensely at many levels. He was a former member of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department and attended Union United Methodist Church. He had played outfield in the Modified Softball League. He loved music and working with his hands, especially with wood. He loved attending his daughter’s college field hockey games. In addition to his father he is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Jo Wheatley and her fiance Ryan Petrone of Georgetown; two sisters, Sharon W. Hawk and husband Charles, and Joanne W. Jones and husband Jerry, all of Bridgeville; nieces and nephews, Karen Pusey, Kristen Hatfield and husband Shawn, Brian Jones and fiancee Ruthy Fedale, Jill Jackson and husband Aaron, great-nieces and -nephews, Megan and Lauren Correll, Taylor Hatfield, and Tyler and Trey Hatfield.

Linda Marie Shea, company supervisor
Linda Marie Shea, 45, of Bridgeville, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Easton, Md. as a result of a motorcycle accident. Her companion, Joseph Wheatley, also died in the accident. She was born March 3, 1963, in Milford, daughter of Lawrence James Shea and Charlotte Ayars Stevenson, both of Greenwood.
Ms. Shea had worked at CDM of Greenwood for 16 years, most recently serving as a supervisor. She enjoyed riding horses and playing pool. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, David Slaughter, Robert Slaughter Jr. and Joshua Sutcliffe; two daughters, Lindsey David and Brittany Sutcliffe; two sisters, Kathleen Haring Wasserloss and Jo Anne Myer; five brothers, Lawrence Shea Jr., Daniel Shea, Michael Shea, Scott Shea and Joseph Shea; two grandchildren, Cody Russell and Ashton Slaughter, and one on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Betty R. Morris of Frankford was called home by Jesus on Sunday, May 25, 2008, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Betty was born July 31, 1932, daughter of the late Charles H. and Maggie McCabe Rogers.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the Frankford United Methodist Church, the Frankford Volunteer Ladies Auxiliary and the Selbyville Elks Lodge.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Donald “Duck” Morris; two brothers, Charles Rogers and Herman Rogers; and two sisters, Viola Shockley and Gladys Collins.
Betty leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years, Raymond Morris of Frankford; two daughters, Janet O’Neal of Millsboro and Bonnie Shockley and her husband Chris of Frankford; a son, Terry Morris and his wife Robin of Frankford; five grandchildren, Carey Baker and her husband Thomas, daughter of the late Duck Morris and Marty Quillen; Kevin O’Neal and his wife Melissa, Christy Shockley, Leigh Ann McIlvain and husband Shawn, and Zachary Morris; her beloved sister, Charlotte Clark and her husband Donnie of Gumboro; three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Jake and Zoe O’Neal; and a dear friend, Gertrude Shockley.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 30, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends and family may call after noon. Interment will follow at Roxana Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Betty’s name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
