Myrtle Lorraine Lee, CHEER member
Myrtle Lorraine Lee, 71, of Georgetown, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington.
Mrs. Lee was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Irvin and Sarah Scull Weldon. She was a homemaker who cared about people.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended the Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel and was a member of the Georgetown CHEER Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Jr. in 1999. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Mary J. Lee of Greenwood; three daughters, Nancy L. Lee of Laurel, Audrey C. Lee of Bridgeville, and Tracey M. Lee of Laurel; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon, Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the Lee family plot in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, N.J. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.

Edward Sterling Adkins, entrepreneur
Edward Sterling Adkins, 64, of Georgetown, died Friday. Feb. 13, 2009, at Renaissance Nursing Home, Millsboro.
Mr. Adkins was born the son of the late Edward S. and Alice E. Cordrey Adkins. He moved from Easton, Md., to the Seaford area when he was a child. He was a self-employed entrepreneur and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the ALS Association and enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid sports fan but mostly spent time with his family.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his wife, Lindsy Tice Adkins of Georgetown; five children, Alicia Logan and her husband Greg of Lancaster, Pa., Graham Reese and his wife Holly of Milton, Edward S. Adkins III and wife Heidi of Reno, Nev., Shane Mellin of Seaford and Zachary Mellin, also of Seaford; and five grandchildren, Andrew Logan, Matthew Logan, Paige Adkins, Brenna Reese and Ryann Logan.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Christ Evangelistic Church, Laurel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Arrangements by Short Funeral Services, East Market Street, Georgetown.

Charles R. Ritter, retired truck driver
Charles Ross Ritter, 76, of Lewes, passed away, Friday Feb. 13, 2009, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
He was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Lewes, son of the late Roy and Mildred Greene Ritter.
Mr. Ritter had been employed for over 30 years with Southern States of Nassau as a truck driver. Prior to that time he had been employed as a driver for former Lt. Gov. Eugene Bookhammer at his family sawmill. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Frances Marie Ritter, in 1989.
He is survived by his children, Donna Lynne Albright of Lewes, Darlene Marie Cooper of Lewes, Mark Shannon Ritter of Lewes, Amy Colleen Ritter of Sinking Springs, Pa., and Carla Elizabeth Ritter of Millsboro; his grandchildren, Misty Lynne Hall of Lewes, April Marie Fritz of Millsboro, Danielson Ashley Cooper of Milford, Brendan Wesley Cooper of Millsboro, Anne Marie Ritter of Delmar, Morgan Ross Ritter of Delmar, Thomas James Wertz III of Sinking Springs, Zachary Michael Wertz of Sinking Springs, Erica Nicole Dusenberry of Virginia, John Truitt Jr. of Millsboro and Tyler Michael Truitt of Millsboro; great-grandchildren, Brian Keith Hall II of Lewes, Hunter Terrence Hall of Lewes, Logan Michael Hall of Lewes, Camren Wesley Hall of Lewes and Ethan Blake Berlinger of Millsboro; and a sister, Helen Geyer of Millsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Burial will be at White’s Chapel Cemetery, near Lewes.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home.

Raymond Rickards Jr., respected firefighter
Raymond Joseph “Rick” Rickards Jr., 71, of Ocean View, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
Rick retired in 1991 as a supervisor after working 34 years at the DuPont plant in Seaford. Rick was respected for his easygoing way and service to others as evidenced by his 52 years of service to the Millville Fire Company.
He remained an active and lifetime member serving as a Delaware state fire policeman and as superintendent of supplies. Rick served his country with six years in the Army National Guard.
He was one of the original members of the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen’s Club, a life member of the North American Hunting Club and a member of the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association.
Rick loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and time spent with his family.
He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the joy they brought to his life in his retirement years.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Jean; a daughter, Pamela R. Browne and her husband, Mark; two grandchildren, Van Browne and his wife Lisa, and Shawn Mize and her husband Jeff; four great-grandchildren, Adison, Abott and Ashton Browne and Sydney Jane Mize. Rick is also survived by a brother, Roy Rickards; and will be missed by many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where family and friends may call after 11 a.m.
Interment will be held at the Ocean View Presbyterian Cemetery in Ocean View.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Rick’s name to the Millville Fire Company Building Fund, P.O. Box 64, Millville, DE 19970; or to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Faith Fox Hodges, Navy veteran
Faith Fox Hodges, 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at North Adams Commons in North Adams, Mass.
Born May 31, 1931, in Manchester, N.H., she was the daughter of George W. and Mable M. McIntosh Fox. Faith grew up in Manchester and was a 1950 graduate of Manchester High School. She then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a WAVE from 1951-55. She was a member of AMVETS.
She leaves several longtime friends, including Patricia Day and Dee Schrader, both of Lewes, and several cousins.
Burial will be private.

Katie Mae Holland, retired poultry worker
Katie Mae Holland, 67, of Millsboro, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
She worked at Showell Poultry Plant for 32 years and lived in Millsboro for the past 10 years. Katie was a member of Victory Pentecostal Church in Selbyville.
She loved taking care of her grandchildren, especially Ja’Heir “Peewee” Holland.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Holland in 1980.
She is survived by three sons, James Edward Holland of Millsboro, Leroy James Holland of Georgetown and George McCray of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Ja’Heir “Peewee” Holland, Jakirra Holland, Jaevon Holland, Sanaya Holland, Jathias Morris, Mike Mitchell, Joaquin Holland and Juanite Morris.
A funeral service was held at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services in Frankford. Burial was in in Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery in Bishopville, Md.

L. Madeline Mumford, school bus driver
L. Madeline Mumford, 72, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bishopville, Md., to the late John Elva and Elsie Timmons Shockley.
She lived in North Carolina for 14 years but resided in Delaware the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker, school bus driver and caregiver to many local people. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ottie Mumford.
Madeline is survived by her six children, Deborah Hollowell and husband Whit of Richmond Hill, Ga., K. Grant of Fredericksburg, Va., Aaron K. and wife Denise of Locust Grove, Va., Bruce A. of Millsboro, Agena Atkinson and husband Jimmie of Millsboro, and Charles O. and wife Merissa of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Jessica Mumford, Alex and Emily Hollowell, and Ella Mumford; two sisters, Ruth Mumford of Baltimore, Md., and Shirley Nickerson of Deptford, N.J.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Forrest, John Elva Jr. and Sylvester; and three sisters, Edna Lewis, Hazel Montgomery Hahn and Elizabeth Oltman.
A service for Madeline will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call at noon. Friends may also call Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Edward Wilkins will officiate the service. Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in memory of Madeline be made to the Children’s Miracle Network, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.

Phyllis R. Moss, private duty nurse
Phyllis R. Moss, 82, of Morganville, N.J., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
She was born in West Pittston, Pa., the daughter of the late Maurice and Vernice Curtis Cleveland.
She was a private duty nurse for Jordan Lebensfeld for 25 years.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and grandchildren, crocheting and bowling on the Senior League. She was a foster mother to 13 children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Moss in 2002.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Jordan of Milton and Wendy S. Rockle of Wilmington; a sister, Daurice Holly of Old Forge, Pa.; and a brother, Arjay Cleveland of Tunkhannock, Pa.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after noon. Contributions may be made to Beebe Medical Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.

Dorothy S. Matsinger, active in church
Dorothy S. Matsinger, 92, of Georgetown, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in her home.
Dorothy was born in Fernwood, Pa., daughter of the late Samuel and Sallie M. Reighter Cummings.
She was a homemaker. Dorothy also was a licensed beautician and hairdresser for 16 years.
She was a member of Long Neck U.M. Church and was very active in the church, Mary Martha Circle and ladies’ Red Hat group. She especially enjoyed making baked goods for the many church activities.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy’s husband William James Matsinger preceded her in death in 1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Collins of Green Valley, Ariz., and Sandra L. Kilian and husband George of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Chris Wickersham and wife Yoko of Encinitas, Calif., Vickie Moore and husband Brian of San Diego, Calif., Tracy Stipe and husband Ben of East Nottingham, Pa., and George Kilian Jr. and wife Cathy of Pensauken, N.J.; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah Moore, JoVonne Moore, Benjamin Stipe Jr., Carri Kilian and Harley Kilian; a sister-in-law, June Cummings of Seaford; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, in Long Neck U.M. Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Burial will be at a later date in Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Arthur J. DiDomenico, enjoyed music
Arthur “Art” J. DiDomenico, 40, of Newark, formerly of Millsboro, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark.
Art enjoyed music, dancing and shooting pool, and he loved his dog.
He is survived by his roommate and companion, Richard Pearlstein; his mother, Diane Meyerson DiDomenico of Battle Creek, Mich.; his father, John R. DiDomenico of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, John and his wife Ceilto of Rehoboth Beach, and Harry and his wife Violet of Battle Creek; aunts and uncles, John Meyerson, Arthur DiDomenico, Janelle Morton, Rosalind Morton and Daryl Meyerson.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Epworth Methodist Church on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach.

Dorothy A. Gill, retired accountant
Dorothy A. Gill, 75, of Selbyville, formerly of Deptford, N.J., passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa.
She was born in Williamsville, daughter of the late Arthur and Marion Stratton Baull.
She was employed with Sears & Roebuck in their accounting department for 15 years before working for the Deptford Township Municipal Building Department and Tax Office for six years.
She moved back to Delaware with her husband Daniel in 1999. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos.
Dorothy attended St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Baull and Linwood Scholles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Daniel J. Gill Jr,; three children, Dorothy L. Darley of Lewes, Daniel J. Gill III and his wife Regina of Deptford, and Daune Mumford and her husband John of Selbyville; six grandchildren, Giuseppe Belfiore and companion Billie Jo, Daniel Gill IV, Jonathan Hager, Drew Gill, Michael Stone and Jacob Darley; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nevaeh Belfiore.; a brother, Guy L. Baull and his wife Linda of Roxana; and a sister, Ella May Cropper and her husband Daniel of Seaford.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday Feb. 18, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends and family may call after 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory to St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Highway, Fenwick Island, DE 19944.

John J. Klink, former police officer
John J. Klink, 42, of Millville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., surrounded by his loving family.
John was a 1984 graduate of Indian River High School; he then served in the United States Army for three years. He was formerly employed as a police officer, correctional officer and security officer.
He was an active member of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and currently serving as a Delaware state fire policeman. He was a past member of the Bowers Beach Volunteer Fire Company, where he was formerly ambulance captain and rescue lieutenant. He was also past president of the Camden Volunteer Fire Company.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karl and Mabel Klink.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Lane Klink; his son, Andrew Michael Klink; stepson, Christopher Lee Baker; mother, Marjorie Bunting of Dagsboro; his father, Karl M. Klink Jr., of Frankford; three brothers, Joseph Klink of Frankford, Karl Klink III and his wife Melanie and their children Kacey and Kara Klink of Frankford, Phillip Klink and his wife Shannon and their children Phillip and Taylor Klink of New Castle; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and July Lane of Woodside; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Lane Jr., and his wife Paula and their children, Amy and Jacob Lane, all of Virginia; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday Feb. 19, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Avenue, Ocean View, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
The family suggests memorial contributions in John’s memory to the Scholarship Fund for John’s son Andrew Klink, c/o any Delaware County Bank.
