A resounding, “You go, girl,” may be heard this weekend, as the Rusty Rudder produces the latest in a string of festivals. The all-female Chickfest takes the stage Friday, May 9, with performances by 30 bands on five stages in Dewey Beach.

First up are Ang & Ris of Wilmington, who will play at 7 p.m., Friday at Booksandcoffee. The duo’s melodies are tinged with hues of Tori Amos and Dido, while employing nuances of poets including C.S. Lewis and T.S. Elliot.

The fun continues Friday as Amanda Kaletsky of Connecticut performs at 9 p.m. at the Rusty Rudder, and Junior League of Washington, D.C. performs at 10:20 p.m. at the Rusty Rudder.

Highlights of Saturday’s lineup include Maria DuBiel of Pennsylvania at Booksandcoffee at 8 p.m., Meida Pauley of Boston at 9 p.m. at the Rusty Rudder and New York City’s Rachael Sage & the Sequins at 10:20 p.m. at the Rudder.

All Chickfest events are free. For information about these and other concerts, visit www.deweybeachfest.com/chickfest.
