Coastal Concerts seeking applicants for scholarship
Coastal Concerts is seeking applicants for its $1,000 scholarship for an eligible candidate in music performance to defray expenses incident to the study of music. The program, which has been in existence for over seven years, is open once a year to Sussex County high school students.

The money in this scholarship may be used for any expenses related to the study of music. Candidates must be enrolled in a program that is directly related to music performance.

Applicants will be asked to provide a letter outlining the purpose, place of use and the period of time for use of the scholarship. Interested students will also be asked to detail their experience including recitals, concerts and performances. At least two letters from professionals in the related field of music should be included in the application as well as an audition tape or CD.

Special consideration will be given to junior and senior high school students and those who have been accepted by a school program with the intention of continuing music studies. Applications and guidelines will be mailed on request and are also available at coastalconcerts.org, and through school guidance counselors and music teachers. All applications will be due by Saturday, Oct. 31, and the chosen candidate will be notified in mid-December. Call Dolores Fiegel at 888-212-6458 for more information.

Coastal Concerts has been recognized by the Cape Henlopen School District for its contributions to furthering music studies in the district.
