Local artist to teach watercolor class
Award-winning teacher and artist Lesley McCaskill will teach a watercolor class for beginner and intermediate students from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays, Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4, at Gallery One in Ocean View.

The class will explore materials and techniques used by master artists like Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, William Turner, John Constable, Patricia Tobacco Forester, Joseph Raffael and Andrew Wyeth.

Through guided exercises, students will explore compositional devices, handling of paint, and tools to improve their drawing skills to develop their own unique artwork.

An experienced teacher and artist, McCaskill earned the Centennial Educator Award from the University of Philadelphia, a painting grant to study in Italy and a summer study with noted artist Wolf Kahn. Recently she received a first-place award in the Delaware Watercolor Society juried show at Nassau Valley Vineyard, and she was the featured artist in the Rehoboth Art League Member Show this summer.
