The final figures are in and despite tough economic times the Rehoboth Art League’s Outdoor Show posted sales 9 percent higher than last year.
The total sales of more than $400,000 continue to establish this Delaware tradition as one of the largest and most successful shows in the country. Three-quarters of these gross sales are paid out to the artists and artisans.
“We are very pleased with this year’s increase in Outdoor Show sales, and with our art sales in general,” says Executive Director Karen McGrath. “Since April 1, we’ve sold just under $500,000 in artwork between the Outdoor Show and our galleries. “Our exhibit and event programs are providing sustainable income for hundreds of local artists.”
“The success of events like the Outdoor Show guarantees the art league can continue its year-round programs and outreach while providing an important income source for artists,” says Outdoor Show chairwoman and artist Dolores Andrew.
The Rehoboth Art League was founded in 1938 to encourage interest and participation in a wide variety of cultural and artistic activities.
The Rehoboth Art League is located on a three-and-a-half acre historic campus on Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres just blocks from downtown Rehoboth.
