The outreach program provides early childhood music education to children ages 2 to 7 in statewide schools, daycare centers and preschools.

Last year the music school served nearly 600 children, approximately 30 percent of whom were from low-income families, at outreach locations throughout the state.

In addition to the DuPont grant, the Music School of Delaware has also received grants from Verizon and Valero in the amounts of $2,850 and $1,000, respectively, to fund website improvements; from Target in the amount of $1,000 to support the music school’s first of four family concerts, “Webster the Musical Spider”; and from Principal Financial Group in the amount of $500 to support the school’s Cultural Crossroads concert series.
