Millsboro Art League announces
Fall Art Contest award winners
The Millsboro Art League recently announced the winners of its Fall Art Contest at a reception at the league’s gallery located on Main Street, Millsboro. Entries to the contest included acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings, photography, cross stitch and painted furniture, which created an array of diverse art for guests to enjoy.

Winners include Edward Jackson, best in show with his huge cross stitch, “British Flag,” that required thousands of stitches and endless hours to complete. The first-place award went to John Hollingsworth for his watercolor “Ship John Shoal Light,” and second place was awarded to Paula McDaniel for her delicately colored watercolor titled “Summer Shadows.” There were three honorable mention awards: Ocean View’s Tom Keeley’s “Sea Turtle” watercolor; a vivid acrylic painting of a curio cabinet by Ellen Hoffman; and Lee Swantkowski’s photograph, “After the Storm.”

The Millsboro Art League gallery is open from noon to 3:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays through December, and 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sundays. The Fall Art Show will be on display through mid-November.
