State police charged Leslie D. Small with first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and robbery in connection with a homicide that occurred at Donovan Smith Mobile Home Park Thursday, Nov. 12.
State police spokesman Sgt. Walter Newton said police located Small at a Milford motel at 2 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, and took him into custody.
Troopers found evidence at the murder scene and later executed a search warrant at Small’s Milton home. Investigators found additional evidence linking him to the crime, said Newton.
Small, 51, of Milton, is a taxicab driver who provided 78-year-old June McCarson with transportation Wednesday, Nov. 11. Newton said it was the last time she was seen alive.
Small is in custody at the Delaware Department of Correction without bail.
