Ocean City Springfest, Opening of Funland in Rehoboth Beach Headline This Weekend's Events Calendar
If you didn't already know it was the spring season at the Delaware and Maryland beaches, then this week's "Weekender Blog" should leave no doubt whatsoever.
But before we continue, we'd like to extend our best wishes for a special Mother's Day Weekend to all the great moms out there! Here's to a fun and memorable time with your loved ones this Sunday, May 8.
The first two events on our latest events blog are staples of the spring season, happenings that are looked forward to each and every year. One is at the Oldfather Group's home base of Rehoboth Beach while the other is just a few miles away in beautiful Ocean City, Maryland.
Between four days of Springfest and the first of many fun-filled days at Funland on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, this weekend is one for getting outside and having a great time in the coastal region.

Springfest (May 5-8)
Is there any event at the Delaware and Maryland beaches that harkens the arrival of spring more than the annual Springfest celebration in beautiful Ocean City, Maryland?
Celebrating its 31st year in 2022, this four-day celebration of spring brings tens of thousands of people to Ocean City every year for food, entertainment, an eclectic collection of vendors and all kinds of warm weather fun.
Headliners for this year include Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors on Friday night and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas on Saturday.
But while the two acts mentioned above are paid events, there's also a host of free entertainment options during all four days of Springfest, including Poole & The Gang, the Beach Bandits, Jesse Garron's Tribute to Elvis and much more.
Admission to Springfest is always free and it remains a rain or shine event. Scheduled hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Sunday.

Opening Weekend of Funland (May 7-8)
In what has become a highly anticipated Mother’s Day Weekend tradition in Rehoboth Beach, Funland officially opens its doors for the 2022 season this Saturday at 1 p.m.
The games and rides at Funland will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the month of May (as well as on Memorial Day), but will be open seven days a week beginning in June.

Lewes British Motorcar Show (May 7)
Co-sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the British Car Club of Delaware, this annual event is taking place on Saturday, May 7, at the Lewes Ferry Terminal.
Scheduled for 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., this 27th annual show features cars that were manufactured in Great Britain, as well as food and beverages provided by Grain on the Rocks.
Show admission is $5 with children under 12 admitted for free.
