Bayhealth’s Sierra Phillips, CNA, cares for patients at the Bayhealth Kent Campus and has earned a Sunshine Award for her high quality care.
The Sunshine Award recognizes the vital team members who support our nursing staff and work closely together in order to provide compassionate care to patients. The Sunshine Award is an extension of the DAISY Award “as daisies need sunshine to grow.”
Within health care, commitment and compassion are two integral aspects of caring for a patient. Phillips embodies commitment and compassion as she takes it upon herself to go the extra mile as well as care for her patients as if they are her own family.
The level of care that Phillips provides allows the families of her patients to feel comfortable leaving their loved one in her care. One family in particular described Phillips as “an angel who stood out among the crowd.”
“Sierra is a shining star on this unit. She is loved by every patient that she cares for, and greatly respected by the entire nursing team,” said Phillips’ nominator.
