The 22nd Annual British Motorcar Show was held May 6 at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal. Sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the British Car Club of Delaware, the show, formerly held on the grounds of the Lewes Historic Society, outgrew that venue and now is held at the Ferry Terminal. Trophy’s were awarded in the eight classes by popular votes by the attendees. The Triumph TR6 was the featured marque at the 22nd show. This year’s event attracted 95 preregistered cars and five cars registered on the day of the show. British weather was predicted the day of the event but on Saturday morning black clouds hovered yet the strong winds blew them away. Nearly 700 spectators admired the 67 cars that arrived on the grounds and voted for their favorites in each category. The rain held off until after the Winners’ Circle parade.
