Air Force woodwind quintet to play Sept. 10 at St. Peter’s in Lewes

September 5, 2024

The St. Cecilia Music Guild will open its ninth season of concerts with Langley Winds, a woodwind quintet from the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lewes.

The group’s commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. Their modern, innovative approach to the classic woodwind ensemble promises a variety of music that is likely to include jazz, classical chamber music and creative arrangements of new standards in popular music, while honoring the nation’s veterans and the communities that support them.

Admission is free to all concerts at St. Peter’s, located at Second and Market streets. Doors open 30 minutes prior to start time.

“We endeavor to present concerts as diverse as the interests of our audience,” said T.J. Thomas, St. Peter’s minister of music.

Upcoming performances include the Kent Chamber Choir at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, and the University of Delaware Faculty Jazz Ensemble at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8.
