Aldo Sacco Sr., cherished family, friends

July 3, 2023

Aldo Sacco Sr., 83, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach. He was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Carpanzano, Italy, son of the late Luigi and Rosina Sacco.

Aldo married the love of his life, Elizabeth M. Sacco, in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 23, 1967, and the two would spend many beautiful years together with countless, happy memories. He was a hard worker, great provider for his family and a go-getter who operated multiple companies simultaneously, including running his own construction company, running a snow-removal company, all while owning and managing a lumber yard.  Aldo loved spending time with his family and friends, whether it was hosting holiday parties at his home, playing golf with friends, or playing poker and scopa with his grandchildren. Above all, he treasured his time with his grandchildren. Aldo was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved telling stories of Calabria, Italy, where he grew up, and listening to Italian music. Aldo had a large personality and would light up the room when he entered it. He will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

In addition to his parents, Aldo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Sacco; his siblings, Renato Sacco, Orlando Sacco, Maria Ciocca, Serina Ciocca and Lidia Cerquetelli. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Sacco (William Greene) of Rehoboth Beach and Aldo Sacco Jr. (Leah) of Wildwood, N.J.; his grandchildren, William Greene Sacco of Rehoboth Beach, Aldo Sacco, Joseph DiCola, Jessica Leigh, Danielle Hemphill and Christina Sacco, all of Wildwood; his eight great-grandchildren; his brothers, Ettore Sacco (Marie) and Mario Sacco (Judy); his sister, Anna Garafulo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 6, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes.
