ALERT: Rt. 1 closed both directions due to flooding north of IR bridge

Route 1 southbound is closed at Tower Road south of Dewey Beach due to water crossing over from the northbound lanes. Route 1 northbound remains closed at Fred Hudson Road north of Bethany Beach due to ocean flooding through a dune breach on the north side of the Indian River Inlet bridge. The closures will remain until water recedes and the road is cleared.
