Allen Wayne Lanouette, 75, of Dover, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023.

He was born June 14, 1947, in Wilmington, to the late Cecil A. Lanouette and Ruth E. Sweeney.

Allen served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for over 33 years for Verizon Phone Company. Upon retirement, he opened All About Wood-Home Repairs/Building. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, a former coach, manager and umpire for Dover Little League for over 15 years, and he volunteered in numerous organizations in the community. Allen will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone, and his infectious smile and wit. He was a loving and devout husband, father, and grandfather. Never to miss a game or performance, his children were his greatest love and joy. When he became a grandfather, he was sure to be on the field or in the audience once again showing his love and support.

The family would like to thank Grace Church for their prayers, love and support during this difficult time, special family and friends who supported us, cardiac surgeon Dr. Robb and the medical team on the CCCU-Floor 2; Coronary Failure-Floor 5, and Accent Hospice, all at Christiana Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Lanouette Chevalier.
