Site work continues on the grounds of Rehoboth Elementary School, where an archway featuring the original building name blocks and 1939 cornerstone overlooks a sidewalk that leads to Turtle Bridge.
The archway is adjacent to a new outdoor classroom constructed with reclaimed sand-colored brick from the old Rehoboth Public School.
Remaining work includes installing exterior insulation and finish systems on the areas in yellow, Cape Director of Capital Projects Brian Bassett said, and framing the date and name stones.
The new Rehoboth Elementary School opened in September 2019. After demolition of the old school in December 2019, crews got to work leveling and clearing the land to make way for basketball, pickleball and tennis courts.
