Aurelia Frederick Lagowski, ChristianaCare retiree
Aurelia Frederick "Rela" Lagowski, 94, of Milton, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Rela was born in Wilmington Oct. 24, 1929, to the late Theodore and Waclas Frederick. She worked for ChristianaCare for 25 years as an executive secretary in the administration department, retired, and then returned for another 10 years, working part time in design services.
Rela was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lagowski; sister, Dorothy Frederick; and brothers, Richard and Theodore Frederick.
She is survived by her children, John (Nancy) Lagowski, Sharon Woodland and Jude (Dean) Gary; grandsons, Brian (Lauren) Young and David (Michele) Young; great-grandchildren, Alex and Brady Young, and Kylie and Benjamin Young.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Family and friends may begin visitation at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Elizabeth High School, 1500 Cedar St., Wilmington, DE 19805, where she was an alumnus of the Class of 1947.
