Author Nancy Lynch to speak to genealogical society Nov. 19

November 13, 2016

The Sussex County Genealogical Society will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Lewes Public Library. Guest speaker will be author and journalist Nancy E. Lynch. She will discuss the proper way to preserve historical letters and other papers. Specifically, she will talk about how to preserve war letters which provide firsthand accounts from the battlefields. She is the author of "Vietnam Mailbag, Voices from the War:1968-1972."  Her book tells the story of the men and women who fought in Vietnam through their own words. The book is based on the largest collection of primary source material known to exist from that era. Lynch, a graduate of the University of Delaware and resident of Bethel, began her career as a staff reporter for The Wilmington News Journal. She has been a free lance writer for many years. She and photographer Kevin Fleming have produced six books on contemporary Delaware. For more information, go to www.scgsdelaware.org.
