Frederick D. Thomas Middle School students had an opportunity April 14 to meet and learn from author, illustrator and University of Delaware graduate Jay Cooper, who has written and illustrated many books, including his most popular graphic novel middle school series, "The Last Comics on Earth." Cooper shared with students how he became an author and illustrator, and discussed his work on Broadway sets and with Times Square advertising designs. He conducted a graphic drawing session and autographed several books for students. Cooper also donated some of his artwork to the school library.
Originally from Dover, Cooper now makes his home in New Jersey with his wife and children.
