Bayhealth leads in heart health fundraising for second year

The Southern Delaware Heart Walk proved to be a beautiful day for a beautiful cause.

Bayhealth team members, clinicians and supporters donned their bright-blue shirts and celebrated another successful year of fundraising on behalf of the American Heart Association of Delaware.

The premier signature sponsor for the 2023 Southern Delaware Heart Walk, Bayhealth led the fundraising efforts for the second year in a row with over $48,000 donated.

Ben Collins, MBA, BSN, Bayhealth Cardiovascular Service Line senior director of operations, showed his commitment to improving cardiovascular health for his community by coming in as top individual fundraiser with more than $5,000.

“This is more than a walk; this is a way for us to come together as a community to support the AHA in the fight against cardiovascular disease, which continues to be the leading cause of death in the United States,” said Collins. “The team at Bayhealth never ceases to amaze me in their efforts, excitement and commitment to this cause each and every year. They are the superstars behind all of our success.”

“It does not surprise me that we continue to exceed our fundraising goal,” said Devin Rhodes, Bayhealth heart walk leadership committee member and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation manager. “Our team members get really creative, and it is amazing to know how we are supporting our patients and community. We care for our cardiovascular patients every day at Bayhealth, and it is nice to get out and celebrate with them and our team members.”
