Bayhealth receives $25K grant from Bank of America

June 11, 2024

The Bayhealth Foundation has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Bank of America. Funds will go toward Bayhealth’s graduate medical education programs, which are improving access to healthcare services by bringing skilled physician residents to central and southern Delaware. Residents work side by side with Bayhealth physicians to care for community members, learning the latest techniques to provide patients with the best care.

Through this gift, Bayhealth’s new emergency medicine residency program, and hematology and medical oncology fellowship programs will flourish. In turn, eligible residents and fellows will gain invaluable experience through working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, allowing them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the fields.

"Bank of America's continuous support of our GME programs helps us to ensure that all Delawareans have access to healthcare,” said Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, Bayhealth Foundation president.

This is the fourth grant from BofA, which has given nearly $100,000 to Bayhealth’s GME programs as part of its philanthropic support for communities across the First State. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.

“Bayhealth is delivering high-quality healthcare to our communities with compassion, integrity, respect and teamwork,” said Chip Rossi, Bank of America Delaware president. “We continue to support Bayhealth’s vital mission as they work to improve our health and our workforce here in Delaware.”
