Beebe’s Specialty Surgical Hospital raises the bar for medical care
Dr. Tam,
I had orthopaedic surgery with Dr. Ronald Sabbagh on June 7 at Beebe Healthcare’s new Specialty Surgical Hospital, and I wanted to share my experience with you.
I have suffered with chronic back issues including pinched nerves and severe pain in my legs for over 20 years. After years of physical therapy and injections in my back, I met with Dr. Sabbagh and decided to have the recommended surgery. I was somewhat apprehensive because this was a major procedure, but I felt confident with Dr. Sabbagh.
I wasn’t thrilled when I was told the surgery would require an overnight stay, but I am writing today to let you know that I had an amazing experience at the Specialty Surgical Hospital from intake through to discharge.
To begin, the facility itself was impressive. The best way for me to describe it is to say it was like a 5-star hotel. The intake and non-clinical staff were equally as impressive. Everyone was very caring and helpful, doing everything they could to lower my anxiety and make me comfortable.
My room was a large private suite with state-of-the-art equipment. It was obvious that it was designed to ensure patient comfort. I really liked the large TV, and how bright and spacious my room was. I’d also like to mention the food. I can’t say enough good things about it. it was incredible, just like I would order in a fancy restaurant!
The care from the nursing staff was also excellent. Every single nurse went above and beyond every moment that I was there. They could not do enough for me, and I wanted for nothing. When it was time to leave, I literally grabbed the bed rail and asked if I could stay. I would like to say a special thanks to three members of the staff who were extra kind: Yasmin Tan, Kony Tobar and particularly Carey Murray, who put a smile on my face the entire time I was there. Thank you all.
I’d also like to mention that my surgery was a big success! I have no more pain in my legs!
Dr. Tam, I moved to Delaware nine years ago from the Boston area, and I have never had better medical care than what I have experienced here at Beebe facilities. You and your team have raised the bar for medical services in Sussex County. I, for one, am very grateful – for truly excellent care.
