Beebe medical staff awards 2024 nursing scholarships

July 16, 2024

Three senior nursing students from the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare have been awarded scholarships from the medical staff nursing scholars program.

Kasey McNatt of Middletown, Lucy Siranides of Lewes and Kaitlyn Stahre of Harrington were named as recipients in recognition of their exceptional clinical performance in nursing. All three students chose to pursue their education at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing because of its reputation as a rigorous program that successfully trains nurses to build superior clinical skills. In addition, they recognize that the school’s graduates consistently have high pass rates on the registered nurse licensure exam. McNatt, Siranides and Stahre all plan to pursue higher education once they have graduated from Beebe.

Beebe’s medical staff created the nursing scholars program to support nursing education for students who have expressed intention of working in Sussex County after graduation. Criteria for selection of annual scholarship winners were established by the School of Nursing student services committee. The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The diploma in professional nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure as a registered nurse.
