Beebe radiologist awarded advanced studies scholarship

August 13, 2024

Courtney Gwyer, a lead radiology technologist at Beebe Healthcare, has been awarded a $15,000 scholarship from Southern Delaware Imaging Associates. She is the first professional to earn the radiology advanced practice scholarship, a program formed through a collaboration between SDIA and Beebe Medical Foundation. The scholarship was established to support ongoing education and professional development opportunities for clinical professionals who are employed at Beebe.

Gwyer has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the field of radiology and shows leadership potential while providing comprehensive, compassionate care for patients. Gwyer is currently pursuing an advanced degree in radiology, with plans to graduate from Midwestern State University in late 2024. In early 2025, she intends to take her board exams, with a goal of becoming a registered radiologist assistant. Long-term, Gwyer plans to remain employed at Beebe and continue to serve her local community.

“We are fortunate to have radiologists who support the work and skill of technologists while also encouraging those who are advancing their education,” said Gwyer. “I am humbled and thankful to be awarded this scholarship as I complete the final six months of my master’s program, and I aspire to continue living and working in Sussex County.”
