Beebe Specialty Surgical Hospital wellness open house set April 13

Beebe Healthcare invites to the community its spring wellness open house from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at the Specialty Surgical Hospital on Beebe’s Abessinio Health Campus, 19161 Healthy Way, Rehoboth Beach.

The event includes a meet and greet; hospital tours; blood pressure, glucose and skin cancer screenings; Narcan training; and a simulation of Beebe's latest technology – the Ion Endoluminal, used for robot-assisted bronchoscopy. The innovative technology will help detect and remove masses or lesions in the deepest regions of the lung. With its ability to find smaller tumors, patients can be diagnosed at an earlier stage of lung cancer, which greatly improves the treatment options.

Appearing at a meet and greet from 11:30 a.m. to noon will be: Laura Tolson, MSN, AG-ACNP, Specialty Surgical Hospital administrator and executive director of surgical services; Maurice Winkfield, oncology services executive director; and DaKota Urban, MD, plastic surgeon.
