Beebe Treasure Chest Thrift Shop holds ribbon cutting

Beebe Treasure Chest Thrift shop celebrated its new location in Midway Shopping Center with an Aug. 4 ribbon-cutting ceremony. The shop is run by volunteers with the Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary, which has been operating for 80 of Beebe Healthcare’s 100 years. The thrift shop opened in 2007, occupying a 2,850-square-foot space in the shopping center. Earlier this summer, the thrift shop moved into a 7,500-square-foot unit at the other end of the shopping center, offering a much more accommodating space for both shoppers and volunteers behind the scenes. The auxiliary donates more than $300,000 annually to the hospital. The thrift shop is one of the auxiliary’s sources of revenues.
The thrift shop, behind La Tolteca on the northbound side of Route 1 in Midway, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday; and 3 to 5 p.m., Mondays. To make arrangements for pickup of large items, call the shop manager at 302-644-2878.
